Cooper First Spy Shots : 2013 MINI Cooper

Mini Cooper (2001–present), also called: Mini John Cooper Works (2008–2024), Mini Hatch (2001–2024), Mini Hardtop (2001–2024), Mini One (2001–2022).
My appologies to Mercedes-Benz on all my bad comments about the A-class interior quality. BMW will go the same route when the BMW 1 Series goes FWD.

And sorry to members that purchased new A-class car recently.
I do hope you guys understand that say you had/have a e.g. W204 C-class and get into a new A-class or your neighbors Hyundai Accent that has better quality than the A-class you will be pissed. Yet if you did not have the W204, you will simply not notice! Then LUCKY YOU!

Get the point!? Well I do and thank ya a 100 000 000 SCOTT27(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

I owned a 2007 W203 C Class, the interior of the new A is better than that, I currently own a 2011 Countryman, the A class bets that hands down as well. I don't think the interior quality is as bad as you're making out, it's better than my assistants new Kia Cee'd, which is ok but after 5k of driving it rattles like crazy.

The new MINI Cooper S rocks the Nürburgring. Final tests in preparation for the launch in August prior to IAA debut in September.

Does Mini do most of their performance testing on the Nürburgring? I don't remember seeing it there before.

Scott are there any new pics of the 5 door? Do you know if the 5 door will also be released at the same time as the 3 door?

Looks like BMW have been raiding the Porsche 991 parts-bin, those headlights are very similar.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the 5 door looks like, if it's ok I'll say bye bye to my Countryman.

Oh, maybe we need to get back into a MINI again. Perfect second car, even if you have no first.

Yes the MINI and the 911 have a similar evolutionary cycle.

It's looking nice, specialy the front end, which is the only different part.

What happened with the creases in the profile?

What happened with the new rear end?

This looks good, for far from the hyping comments we have read since the first spy pics.

Creases are there - yet they are subtle (shoulder line, wheel arches), although not as prominent as seen on Rocketman Concept. Wait for the official pics to emerge. Or even better: check the car IRL when available.

But nobody really expected from MINI to feature BMW-like creases. The new MINI features a bit more sharp, angular elements than the current MINI.

Mind MINI is a retro thingy. It's a part of its iconic status & image. Therefore the design evolution is going the same way as the one on 911.

It's not bad. I'm not jumping on my bed with joy, but it's quite good!

Mother of a front overhang; front wheels look tiny in these shots; strangely cartoonish DRG; overall, the car looks too big! It seems that MINI has now lost its mojo entirely.

Yes the MINI and the 911 have a similar evolutionary cycle.

Except the 911 has gone through 7 evolutions and the MINI coming up to it's 4th, with a massive 40 year gap between the 1st and 2nd evolution.

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
