The inset pictures show what are presumably Air Curtains. Also spied on F15 X5 test cars and the upcoming 4er, it seems this technology will soon feature on almost all new BMW Group models. The test car is identified as a Cooper S by its twin centrally mounted exhaust pipes. It is currently unknown whether Cooper S and JCW models will use high-power versions of the B38 3-cylinder engine or a revised version of the the N18 4-cylinder unit used in the current Cooper S. The interior pictures again confirms that the next MINI will use a conventionally located speedometer. The spy pictures seem to show that the indicators will no longer be mounted on the front fenders, though this could be a trick of the camouflage. The wing-mirrors would be a prime position for the aforementioned, this becoming an increasingly popular trend within BMW and the automotive industry in general. Regarding wing-mirrors, those of this prototype have a very odd casing placed around the exterior edge of the mirror. Could this be a future BMW Group efficiency technology, part of a new MINI trim package, or something else altogether? The F56 will more than likely use ZF's new 9HP gearbox, designed specifically for front-and four-wheel drive cars with transverse mounted engines. AWD may be made option if there is demand, as the UKL platfrom is compatible with it, though they may not to avoid cannibalising sales of the very popular ( and profitable ) MINI Countryman. It is alleged the new Hatch won't be launched until late 2013/early 2014 but it may be earlier, as sales of the Hatch fell 4.1% in 2012 in comparison with 2011.

I certainly hope these next generation Mini's get the B38 motor. As much as the big center mounted speedo is a traditional element, I am somewhat glad to see the speedo mounted in its conventional place.

To early too see/judge perceived and tactile quality but it looks positive. New design and layout I like a lot, better ergonomics!(y)
As for the use of a BMW steering wheel in the mule, goes to show that the electrical harness is a BMW Group standard. And that the Mini-specific steering wheel parts bin is empty (re-order!):D

More dynamic , more Efficiency , more Premium and less weight than the current R56.
And the first BMW Group production car to use the new three cylinder twin power turbo engine.
The all new MINI F56.

The next MINI takes shape getting ready for its debut in August.

Clearly seen are some influences not only from the ROCKETMAN concept car but also from the Porsche 911 school of design evolution.
Features such as the swept back into the wings headlights , utilising some detailing from the ROCKETMAN. Also evident is the next MINI design feature of a single frame grille featuring the typical bar like design , with the Cooper S receiving a sportier intake and frame.

The overall look is classic MINI as you would expect, quality is higher as is detailing , gadget count is increased to reflect market trends as is the novelty factor including all round LED mood lighting around the central command console that replaces the centre speedometer which now moves to the steering column. The car is started by a flick switch in the centre console.

New MINI not only brings a three cylinder engine to the first BMW Group product but is lighter than the car it replaces.
Typical MINI go- Kart handling is retained and enhanced as is the MINIs unique blend of dynamics.
The matrix sharing of the new MINI will also feature within BMWs Audi A1rival .
Although mechanicals and tech and components will be shared between the two. BMW are aiming for a more sportier looking shape that embodies BMW dynasm but in a compact sized footprint. This image gives an idea of how the baby BMW will look.

Honestly, this car is not shaping up good IMO. The changes are not as significant as they should, nor there´s sign of any sculpture lines under the camo, as promised.

Is the baby bimmer is like the SCOTT drawing, poor poor MINI.

There is sculpture it's just that nobody has developed the ability to have X-Ray vision yet.
Poor , poor A1 is what BMW are making the City Compact to outgun in everyway possible.

I´m glad BMW is aming high with the BMW 0er, but MINI would be outguned too.

Not necessary the MINI and BMW brands are kept separate , the MINI will be at its core optimum of culture integration , it will use its funky ness to appeal to the lifestyle , gadget craze culture, as it currently does.
The BMW will be aimed at those that want more restrained premium choices but at a level that will allow the car to be appealing to first-time BMW customers and existing BMW customers that may want to downsize , both the MINI and BMW will be able to option many larger luxury features normally found on the more premium levels of BMW.

Aha! Thank you! There is 1050 000 words worth of explaining 1er FWD, that will be as cheap-skate inside as the new A-class;)
You (BMW) and M-B also Audi with the A1 (no offense, Betty) target the "new customer" to the brand and, and, etc. etc.

Now I understand and also that i have to grow up. For if you are used to driving a proper or REAL premium BMW/Benz/Audi you will be dumb struck and in awe and disbelief that the new Cream Cracker or Lollipop offering from THE BADGES is such a cheap ripp-off and par-Korean standard piece of crap. The Koreans will profit from this "free advertising" LOL. Just like Hyundai telling the RSA public through the new Santa Fe's redicilous high price that the Toyota Fortuner is the best bang-for-your-buck buy in history.

My appologies to Mercedes-Benz on all my bad comments about the A-class interior quality. BMW will go the same route when the BMW 1 Series goes FWD.

And sorry to members that purchased new A-class car recently.
I do hope you guys understand that say you had/have a e.g. W204 C-class and get into a new A-class or your neighbors Hyundai Accent that has better quality than the A-class you will be pissed. Yet if you did not have the W204, you will simply not notice! Then LUCKY YOU!

Get the point!? Well I do and thank ya a 100 000 000 SCOTT27(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
