The BMW X7 is a full-size luxury crossover sport utility vehicle manufactured by BMW. It is BMW's largest and second most expensive SUV in its line-up. The X7 was first announced by BMW in March 2014. It was officially unveiled on October 17, 2018, with pre-orders being taken online. The X7 has been available at dealers since March 2019.

So? They're all click-in modular parts. Not difficult to swap with a new panel.
It's an unnecessary expense for LCI. Car manufacturers rarely make structural changes to the interior design for mid life cycles.

The new instrument cluster is a simpler change but the center console for the 5 and 7 won't be redesigned.

The whole point is is that it is not structural, just like the exterior of a car when facelifted.

And the G30 feels outdated compared to the new cars, so it can cost something. And how expensive these things are you don't know, so maybe make it sound less like a fact.

Some chatter elsewhere that pre-orders, with pricing and options, go live on bmwusa.com on the 16th of October. So full reveal sometime before then, I guess.

Spoiler: X3/X4 cars are also getting new cockpit in 2019 (MY2020 vehicles). Guess how the new design will look like. ;):D #trickledown

(And, yes, 5er/6er cockpit will also be updated. While 7er is already scheduled for LCI in 2019, so ...). The whole CLAR-based vehicles will feature new cockpit based on iDrive 7.x from 2019 on.)

Is this true? I mean, there are several design elements they will need to change in the 5er, X3 and X4 to make them look like the new BMWs in terms of interior layout.

I will personally pay for your 12 month premium membership on GCF if BMW shoehorns the centre console and gear selector stack of the new X5/X7 into the G30 which has a different interior design language.

The point is that is just as easy to swap the interior as it is to swap the exterior. It's all click and go, for the bumpers just as well the the center console. You seem to deny this.

It's likely cheaper for BMW too, to have the same iDrive unit in every car instead of a separate production line just for the 5er and X3.

The BMW X7 will officially be announced on October 16, 2018. To coincide with that, BMW will be offering an X7 Pre-Order program beginning the same day.

Pre-ordering will require a $1,000 deposit. On Oct. 16 customers will be able to place an order for their BMW X7 online through any participating BMW Dealer by depositing $1,000 through bmwusa.com.

BMW NA will reserve a limited number of units from early production exclusively to satisfy these pre-orders which will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-serve basis. These units will be treated outside the regular allocation process which will begin later in Q4.

Order Guides will also be made available on October 16.

Here are the steps to the pre-order process:

1. Visit bmwusa.com on October 16 and choose a participating BMW Dealer. Complete a pre-order form with your information and submit a $1,000 deposit via one of the payment methods accepted by the Dealer selected.
2. You'll receive an order Confirmation ID and your payment will be submitted directly to the Dealer selected.
3. The selected Dealer will then contact you to build and price the vehicle.
4. Once an agreement on the details of the sale is finalized, the Dealer will submit your X7 order into BMW Order Bank.

X7 was an idea born from the run away success of the E53 X5 as was X3. So they started to develop a strategy in the late 90's early 2000s. The X3 was the one that made it through. But again a Second phase was put forward with the E70 and again did not reach full conclusion.

But it goes to show patience and allowing the market to flourish even though this car should have came around a decade ago. But As the saying goes...better late than never.
