Scott where are you when we need you?You guys are late to the party, it actually premiered on may 8:th in Los Angeles.
Arghhh, a threesome of a GL, an X5 and a 2er active tourer. It's like Hugh Jackman getting it on with Jason Statham and ......... Rosie O'Donnell.
Scott where are you when we need you?
Gee, thanks for that image. Where do you live so I can send you the bill for my psychotherapy?
I'm sorry I was overreacting. The most disturbing thing may be that I'm actually a psychologist (even though I haven't worked in the clinical field for many years). So, sorry again and if Rosie and the guys keep haunting you, just think of a pink 5er GT. In case this doesn't help I'm gladly making you a contact![]()
I am currently on assignment.
But this render? It is not the shape of things to come.
The important thing about the X7 is that this not a GL rival which is actually just an extended ML.
Think of X7 as more of a 7er SAV. Its long wheelbase allows designers to offer dynamic outlines and overhangs , especially at the rear of the car. It is less upright and more dynamic with the roof sloping downwards to the cargo area familiar of the first generation X5.
Future BMWs will use that technical high tech look illustrated by the VFL concept to reflect the technical superiority it has within its genes but retain organic surfaces that progress from today’s BMWs such as three dimensional character lines etc. this is important because this element can bring broadness to the wheel arches as when looked on behind. There will be no slashes across the body for the simple ability to provide closure to a blank space every line must form a purpose for it to be present, sculpture must connect to highlight the appearance.
Will the X7 get a X5+ interior or a VFL-inspired one a'la the new 7er?
This render doesnt't look like a SAV. It merely looks like Allroad/RXH.Auto Bild have re-done their X7 Render. As its early the details are the subject of the BMW rendering contagion a rare form of "Granlussoitis" . The outline is interesting, the details are not. Expect more renders until they finally get it right.

The red render has more "stance", but still not enough IMO. Don't like the thape of the C-pillar/roofline (as I don't like this on the 2er AT and MB-C-Estate).@ Scott reminds me of a current X1 mostly
I like the hood shut line of the red render above.
