Concept BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept

Does anyone know where this building is situated and what it is called? @SCOTT27 ?

I must say that the BMW V.F.L Concept leaves me impressed. In terms of both exterior and interior design. Very fresh, precise and perhaps scientific. The low flank, high wheel arch signature appears very athletic and the sculpturing is quite superb. Proportions, save perhaps the rather tall greenhouse, are simply spot on. The W222 S-Class appears a bit unimaginative in comparison. With regard to the interior: Excellent. Nothing less than absolutely excellent.

Surely production will be toned down so much that it won't look much like this. But then this thing is way too dramatic to be real, to me it's pretty ugly, what i think we should read in are some design elements and not the overall car. I'm not too much of a fan of this set of tail lights, looks like they have quite a bit of exploration to do until they switch to this new language. Interior is pretty cool and if they take this direction, it would be something special, instead of just copying bits from Audi and MB. kudos for that (if anything like that makes into production). Tall greenhouse is nearly a BMW thing now, it does sacrifice the overall looks a bit but i guess the point is for better vision?

I find the interior looking very interesting, though I doubt it'll make it into production. The exterior looks rather strange to my eyes. Can't put my finger on it yet. Do like the tail lights.

Looks spectacular.

And I agree, we're going to see a lot of VFL'ed 7er and 5er renders in the coming year.

Can't wait to see renders of the VFL with smaller grille and bigger lights. Gran Lusso grille will do just fine I think.

Next generation 5er G30 anybody especially the G80 M5?

As I mentioned earlier it opens a window for renderers to predict the direction of the next generation BMWs in outline but not details although we know what will be familiar such as doors etc. Although I would say that perhaps more SWB 7er.

Of course it is too early to know what the M5 will look like as it is probably being conceived in the design stages at this point in time. I do know that it advances material technology under and on the skin and we will see optional xDrive as well as the ubiquitous RWD model.

Interesting to sit in a Q&A with M personnel and a handful of Chinese customers asking for a more harder M5. And they also asked for an M7. Which is interesting because such a car with BMWs advances in lightweight engineering is becoming physically possible.

At a guess an M7 Concept perhaps in Beijing 2016?

I am liking this concept a lot. However, the CS is still the daddy. I wish BMW would put it into production someday..... in very near future.

The X5 M weighs around 2300 kg I believe, yet that didn't stop them from making one ;)
M7 is long overdue, and I hope they finally pull the trigger with the G11. It indeed is in a perfect position for M treatment with it's CF lightweight underpinnings.

The thing about the X5M and X6M was that these concepts were more in demand than an M7 . This is proven because both X5M and X6M sell in (for M) volume figures.
And we will close 2014 as we opened 2014 with another set of M twins.

G11 would be in a perfect situation for an M7. The question is though V8? Or V12?

Yes but you made it sound like there was no M7 before because it was too heavy.. ;)

And V8 is out of the question, that's for the M5.
M2 4 cylinder
M3 6 cylinder
M5 8 cylinder
M7 12 cylinder ----> with minimal power RR Wraight level, but 650 hp rolls better off the tongue.

An insight into how popular Vision Future Luxury was in Beijing. Unlike other international auto shows. Beijing is only open for 9 days. The Beijing international exhibition centre is on the same scale as the Frankfurt Messe home of the bi-annual IAA. So there is a lot of distance to cover. And lots of people too coming in all directions.

This is what it looked like before the people descended.

Indeed a lot of local manufacturers pull out the same stops as the Germans at the IAA with massive stands even though some are brands you may never have heard of. As someone who has been in the industry since 1986 I have never heard of some of the brands displaying here at Beijing.

when I see the Peageot's side crease, this BMW pops up in my mind.then I do a comparision and find some similarities are really there.
