It's nice to see Mercedes putting this much effort into an entry level model. If these cars can give a real taste of Mercedes premium, they will be a deserving hit this time around.

Mercedes have unveiled its New infotainment system MBUX at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. It's a massive change from the old Command system where everything on the center screen is now operated by touch interface. It certainly appears more user friendly and more modern. Is it a match for the new Audi MMI and BMW I-drive?

And nobody is complaining about those finger print? It's good to be Mercedes. Shame on you Audi.

So, it seems all German cars are using touch screen now.

2019 Mercedes-AMG A35 Spotted in Traffic, 320 HP Mild-Hybrid Setup Expected

Mercedes-Benz is almost read to introduce the fourth generation of the A-Class (here are some overly revealing spyshots). And with the newcomer finally leaving the entry-level image aside, the lineup will be richer than ever. For instance, the Mercedes-AMG part of the range will feature not one, but two models, with the A45 set to be joined by the A35.

You see, the new incarnation of the compact will see the A45 becoming a 400+ hp machine that will dare to wield its hot hatch attributes in order to threaten sportscars.

As such, the Affalterbach-touched side of the range will welcome the A35, which will fill in the void generated by the gym trip of the A45.

Battling the 310 hp Audi S3 and the 340 hp BMW M140i (the Bavarian compact is also preparing to welcome a new generation, which will leave the current car's inline-six behind), the A35 can't rely on its big brother's laurels to shine.

As such, the German engineers are working on an impressive powertrain for the spicy hatchback. To be more precise, we'll be dealing with a two-liter tubo receiving mild-hybrid assistance (while on-tap electric torque will be present, you shouldn't expect a plug-in setup or even a weight-adding battery pack). The unit should deliver at least 300 horses, even though we expect even more power to be offered.

As expected, all-paw hardware will be present and we expect to see a more engaging handling compared to the outgoing A45 - despite the generation gap, you can expect to see the two getting thrown at each other.

A prototype of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG A35 has recently been spotted doing its thing in Stuttgart traffic. For instance, a clue that gives away the performance orientation of the hatchback comes from the hefty tailpipes. And since Mercedes-AMG knows how to turn a four-pot's voice into music, you can expect those pipes to account for quite a lot of the car's personality.

The last picture shows the two 7" screens. God thats hideous! :arghh:
Whoever buys the new A-Class: please go Widescreen.
I think you need to watch the video of the system in action.
Edit: I see what you're saying. The base system.

Unless the Golf VIII has anything to say about it, this looks like the car to have in the segment.

Indeed it looks, but most importantly MB must rectify the uncomfortable ride and refinement in the previous model.

They have to if they want to be competitive this time around. They seem to have the exterior and interior right this far .

Some initial driving impressions have already said positive things of the new A-class ride, handling and refinement been better than the current model, Mercedes chief engineer for A-class development has done an interview and mentioned how they changed the new car to make it more class competitive and realized the current model was not as good as the current class best rivals.

Do you have a link for those impressions please?

Thanks!

I think the front of the car will look great it's much sleeker than the current model
