Vs W212 E-class vs. F10 5 series (vs. Audi A6)

Which one based on design?

Only the wood line seems to be faulty, the rest is just perfect. Might be a problem on that particular car, which is not even necessarily a new one.

I was thinking of where the trim on the door meets the trim on the dashboard. Here it looks like there are gigantic, uneven gaps.

Of course it could be a car with an isolated accident damage to the trim.

the W212's clamshell shutline looks like you can stick two fingers through it, and the headlights are so disproportionate from each other in any angle aside from the head-on, it hurts me to look at....

This is done on purpose

F10 & CS Concept

Mmmm....:)

The F10 & CS Concept looks much alike...W212 just has not got the look:D

This is ridiculous. Commenting on the quality of a pre-production car from photos. Slap a Mercedes Benz star on the steering wheel, as per the image above, and all of a sudden excuses fly as to why the panel gap exists. Utter rubbish!

Hahaha!

lol. Only if Mercedes fans looked at cars from their own favorite brand as closely as they look at BMW. Anyway wonder what the excuses are going to be? Should be some fantastic shit.

Yep :D

Either way, the shots of the interior of the 5er were indeed of pre-production 2009 models . I think there's nothing wrong with them, but since the Benz boys have found something to complain about again, this is good to point out.

Now, let me please post a picture of what I think is a stunning E-class interior. Designo and all, it finally makes the E look good. It's really hard to make the E look this good, but they did it (just a shame that 95% of the other E cars being sold look far more ordinary.

Also, Vivaki, I call everyone here a fanboy. I know you're not a troll or anything. Far from that. I was just trying to have a conversation, I'm sorry if it came over as hostile.....

Calm down please - delete some insulting posts…moderators will pronounce more infraction, if this discussion becomes more personal…

:t-cheers:

Even though I voted for the 5 series, the E-class has grown on me in the last few weeks. Doesn't seem as boxy and I can respect the aggressive front a little better then before. I think was won me over initially was the 5 series smooth edges. Honestly, I think anyone would be happy with either product.

Agree with HOH on this 100%, both cars look very solid.

Nicks, that's a damn fine interior for a taxi :t-cheers:

For an executive saloon, not so much. That car need like $20k interior options to make it look good  Designo and the whole option list.

A few posts have been deleted on this page. Its not negotiable.

That's a much better solution than the insulting PM I just got from another mod :eusa_clap:eusa_clap I don't have to mention who it was, and it's not important, but...thumbs up!

!

So jealous that Merc is being chosen by taxi companies rather than bmw? :D
no one except fanboyz want to be driven in bwm "premium" intreriors?

Now if we want to talk panel gaps and mismatching objects, the W212's clamshell shutline looks like you can stick two fingers through it, and the headlights are so disproportionate from each other in any angle aside from the head-on, it hurts me to look at....

Did it ever occur to anybody that the hood isn't properly closed here?

I've seen such cars at dealerships where customers examined the engine, brought down the bonnet when they were done but didn't close it properly. This looks like such a case to me.

The "gaps" visible in this shot are way to big to have been designed "on purpose".

Also, comparing the interiors of the W212 and F10 5-Series from a design and quality perspective and then claiming one is better than the other is just childish. Design and the quality materials are completely subjective issues. What looks cheap to person A looks expensive to person B. There's no right or wrong. It's that simple.

Both cars have great interiors from a design and quality perspective if you ask me. Period. This shouldn't even be an argument.

Gaps are the same size on every shot i've seen, so i believe it's supposed to be like this

The gaps in this shot appear far smaller than the gaps in the shot KA posted. I believe the large side gap under the bonnet acts as a "design accent". Something that is supposed to introduce a bit of sleekness and sport into the design of the car. The W204 C-Class has it to.

I am pretty sure there was a similar discussion on 7er hood, and of course the panel gap police were clamoring how it is low quality.

I guess a bunch of us missed this memo. When Benz has gaps, it is design accents, Bimmer has gaps, it is low quality.

It's a crushing victory for the bimmer in this poll. 105 votes vs 60 vs 8 votes for A6 :D
A total of 173 votes, never ever have we had so so many members in a poll before. Must be a record! :usa7uh:

Yes, it is a big suprise to see how many votes it is as well as the amount the votes the 5 series got compared to the E-class.

But...I just got back from the DC Auto Show. Got a chance to sit in the E-class and I LOVED it!

Yup, it's the double standard some here have ;) I've noticed it first hand today with the infraction I got today from our mod team.

Can you expand on your experience HOH? I think it looks much better IRL but I haven't been inside one yet. W212 AMG there by chance?

Some other people don´t need to have such a double standard, they seem to be proud of trolling everytime the can about the VERY same brand.

;);)
