2 Series [Official] The New BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer (F45)

The BMW 2 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since the year 2014. The 2 Series was created when BMW spun-off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the BMW 1 Series into a separate series.
BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer price starts at 28,650 euros

With a price of 28,650 euros, the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer, despite the great utility, is placed slightly above the 2 Series Active Tourer.

The entry-level model, BMW 218i Gran Tourer, will cost 28,650 euros and offers an identical engine as the 218i Active Tourer which is sold for 1,450 euros less.

Later, the 216i Gran Tourer will take over the role of the entry-level model and will be sold for 28,000 euros.

The BMW 220i Gran Tourer has a base price of 32,450 euros. For now, the 225i model with 231 hp seen in the Active Tourer lineup is not planned for the Gran Tourer.

The 116-hp three cylinder 216d family van will cost at least 30,400 euros, while the 218d with 150 hp and four cylinders, will set you back 32,350 euros. The top diesel initially – BMW 220d – is available only with all-wheel and 190 hp, and sells for 40,200 euros.
BMW will offer the 220d with front-wheel drive later this year.

In addition to the standard version, the new BMW F46 2 Series Gran Tourer is available in a further four model variants: Advantage, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport. The exterior dimensions are: 4,556 x 1,800 x 1,608 mm (179.3 inches long, 70.9 inches wide and 63.3 inches tall). A mere 214 millimeters longer and 53 millimeters higher than the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the new BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer provides a further significant increase in space thanks to its long wheelbase, measuring 2,780 millimeters. BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer offers ample space and a generous luggage compartment that can be extended in capacity from 645 to 805 liters (67.3 cubic feet).

The optional third row of seats for two can be completely lowered into the loading floor.

For now, BMW will offer the Gran Tourer in Germany and remains to be seen if the U.S. market will decide to bring them over.

The seven seater Gran Tourer will make its world premiere next month at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale this summer.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer: Rearmost seats suitable for small travellers and those wishing not to be seen in a front drive BMW MPV.

Its the perfect car for those that want a BMW but cannot afford the only other seven seater BMW offer the X5.
As I normally have to split runs in two cars to take out kids, grand kids and their friends, the Gran Tourer suits and fulfils my requirements perfectly. I am sure there are others out there who face similar issues who would find enormous appeal with this vehicle.
You don't have to like it but there will be people who will appreciate this vehicle to reflect the constantly developing and ever progressive customer.
Seven Seaters are just as important as five seaters and each segment will provide seven seats under BMW.

Scott, firstly congrats on the grand kids ! I know we will never agree on this matter, and this isn't personal but I am going to have my say anyway.

There are more spacious and more versatile 7 seaters out there at a more competitive price, ie Honda Oddassy, Kia Carnival. Why will any responsible parents subject your kids to such restricted space and rear seating safety. Lets be honest, large families who are budget constrained should think pragmatically.

As they say Scott and fool and his/her money is soon parted, I think anyone buying this over a Touran, S-Max or Zafira is that fool.

I guess you have to drive a BMW, but I'm sure the new Touran will do a better job and cost less to purchase and run than one of these.

I can´t stand how when the traditional MPV makers are moving away from the markets it´s BMW the one entering. SUVs are the new MPVs.

BMW has the SUV market on lockdown, it only makes sense to enter other segments.
As much as I hate the 2er AT, it's going to be a big seller for BMW. I already see multiple driving the streets, every day.

Who is moving away? In Europe, Ford, VW, Opel, Renault, Peugeot, Citroen all make MPV's, all I can think of is FIAT. BMW's entry appears to me to be half baked and not properly thought out.

The SWB version is a turd, I can't see this LWB version being much better. Of course BMW are good at polishing turds so this car will sell well on badge alone.

Because BMW has got that SUV game down, from X1 to X7.
Why do they want a BMW when it has absolutely ZERO essence of what makes a BMW a BMW?
It does share the same BMW badge, and that is more than enough.

Let's face it, if they cared so much about driving a BMW that has the true genes of a BMW, then they should have invested in much better contraception! :D

This car is a BMW simply because it has the badge....and that's what these folks want. I think we can all agree this car doesn't fit with BMW's brand image, but there are folks who have no choice but to go for these smaller minivans, and they'd like it if their particular minivan was in someway cooler and more sophisticated than a VW, Opel or Peugeot. Of course I'd go for any of the latter options due to value for money, but different strokes for different folks.

Also, you have to remember this car is Euro-specific, where this category of vehicle has a solid market base. For other customers, the upcoming 7-seater X1 would be much more attractive.

Renault has made its Space almost a SUV, Opel plans to do the same with the Zafira, Mazda will stop producing the Mazda 5 and, as someone who knows a lot of PSA workers, I can say they are crazy to change their fugly Picasso for a proper SUV.

Looks like a photoshopped VW or something.

Looks like a bad dream that became reality.

So now that this new thing is released will people still buy the smaller van?

It depends, on how do you like your bimmer van. If you want it more active, you'll get the small one. If you want a more grand experience, you'll get the big one.

Oh f*ck! Whom am I kidding? Both are terrible abominations.

Why are these kids looking each other that way? It creeps me out!

Scott, why not let those people buy themselves an Opel Zafira, so that not everyone and his mother drives a BMW nowadays?

You can't imagine how much I would like Saab to exist, so that I have the option to buy myself a descent car that is not everywhere.

What about the customer that has no kids, no wife, no friends and wants to drive a great sports car to forget m... I mean... their sorrows?!?

Exactly. Do BMW not have one iota of understanding of how even offering the Active Borer and Gran Borer will be doing long term damage to their image?

Why can't they just say "sorry, this market is not for BMW"?

You cannot polish a turd, but BMW are doing their damn hardest to prove you can cover it in glitter.

I hope it's a complete failure for them.
