Radical? I don't think so. It looks like a current Golf with sharper lines & fresher bodywork.






Perhaps that once was a VW idea (initially for new Phaeton, I guess)- but again they "stole" the design elements to implement them on Audi car - that homogeneous L-shaped LED daytime driving light is now featured on new A8, and earlier on A5 (yet not as homogeneous unit) ... as it is the hexagonal single frame grille first presented on VW Iroc Concept.

So, I guess it's hard to design a VW when all good ideas are taken away & given to Audi.

Actually that sketch appeared as a design suggestion for new VW US-specific model: a car larger than Passat. Something between Passat & Phaeton.

But the point is the same: any fresh more progressive idea by VW designer ends up on Audi cars.

It looks like De Silva cars more for Audi than for VW.

I know only one thing. They better improve the lower dash and central console material on the next generation Golf. Here the base Golf costs the same as a 116i!

Seriously speaking, the central tunnel of the Trendline variant of the Golf VI is taken straign away from the B6 A4. It's exactly the same piece of plastic. Now talk about parts bin...

Not a FL, no. A model change.
The Golf VI is based on the Golf V with minor technical mods. More like a heavy FL in fact.

The VII will be a whole new car.
