That car is gonna need huge rims:D

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

^thats what i hate about this car..
I was really hoping that the new E and CLK will deal with that prob..
The previous ones needed HUGE rimms aswell..
But i guess they arent changing that.. cause in MB´s mind elegance comes first..
For these 2 lines..

Thank god for AMG:D

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

Yep and rear overhang is too long.;)

It's zexyyyy love the rear overhang on the 997TT, E46 M3, X6 and other cars with phat rear end. Gives the car a more aggressive stance. :)

Porsche is a Porsche, M3 is an icon, X6 is in it's own class, but this new E coupe/CLK or whatchamacallit looks bad...;) Beyonce looks sexy with phat rear end, while this one looks c r a p !

Sorry, Hassan, that's my 1st impression...;)

:t-cheers:

Stunning presence!!!:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

^X6 is in its own class?
Own class of what?
and what does porsche is a porsche mean? does that mean that if the panamera looks bad we should just say..never mind its a porsche?
Ohh and what does the cars performance (m3) has to do with how the rear looks?

But your point is clear..you dont like the looks...so far..
These other excuses i dont understand

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

Rear light clusters ... Lexus IS says hello. :usa7uh::D

Btw, the second half of the car looks too bloated & fat. Ouch! Perhaps bigger wheels will solve this issue.

Hahahaha, can't defend that one. But don't give Lexus autolies fanboys something to pick on.

That's the first thing I thought too, haha... BUT... I think this car looks FANTASTIC so far. From the front, to the side profile to the rear... I'm still having a hard time liking what I'm seeing so far with the E sedan, especially the rear, but this one... this one works.

That car is gonna need huge rims:D

Don't they all nowadays :D... rims are easy to fix.

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

This started to sound like an Arabic forum .. bias x bias x bias

Love the rear wheel arch and the front .. rear is fine .. although the roofline is very MBish (since the W215) but I wished it was more squared .. like Audi A5 .. it would suit the car design better ... since most of the roundness of the car is gone

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

LOLZ at all the replies to the new pics. They're certainly interesting. All i can say is i really gotta see the finished thing cos right now i just dunno.... Hope it turns out good tho. Not too sure now

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

The only problem with MB's current way of dealing with the roof (more curvature) is that it makes the greenhouse taler and less sporty (coping with the latest low profile designs by other manufacturers). It looks that Audi might abandon that roofline for the A7, A5 SP to avoid such huge glasses ..

Re: Mercedes E-Class Coupe & Cabrio (Spy pics & info) - Formerly CLK Model Line

Front is gorgeous, rear very very good so far... But the side... Quite heavy isn't it... To my eyes, and unless it's a camo-trick, the rear overhang is way too long, the roofline goes too far in the back, and the boot is way too heavy. The roofline is just awful.

Look at the fourth pic, the boot has three "stairs" with all the lines coming into it... The rear fender looks good, on the other hand.

I don't think the wheels have anything to do with it: they are filling the fender. it's just that there is too much metal on the side, the proportions seems wrong.

On shocking detail: if you look closely at the side windows, you will notice a small camoed part of the rear window... Only one explanation: this is a fixed part!!!: :t-hair:

It could be the first MB Coupe since ages whose side-windows don't fully retract...:t-hair: :t-banghea:t-banghea:

If it turns out that is is really the case, I will officially hate it.

High belt line to conceal the still bulbous roof. Clever.
