2010 Mercedes E-Class Spotted with a Soft Top

In this latest round of spy shots, eagle-eyed snappers have captured a few new images of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, which we've seen a few times before. In contrast to earlier images, though, it now appears as if MB is set to eschew the current trend towards retractable hard tops in favor of a more traditional ragtop. That's just fine as far as we're concerned, since the folding mechanisms almost always add an alarming amount of weight and complexity over their slightly less trendy and much less costly soft tops.

Moving past the obvious, we can also see an interesting set of creases running along the flanks of the new two-door E-Class, including a line over the rear wheels that accentuates the wide rear quarter panels. It should be noted that the rear decklid is now lacking the spoiler extension from earlier spy shots. All in all, the E-Class Cabriolet is looking very close being production ready, and we expect MB to show the final version within the next few months. Thanks for the tip, Andrus!

This red one looks very good.

Although the most crucial feature is the seemingly soft-top convertible roof, which is actually a clever way of hiding the retractable hard-top design.

Clearly visible in these images is the joint between the windshield and front edge of the roof, along with the wider disguise of the c-post and matching wider boot deck lid.

For a soft top design, the shape is horrendous. They might as well have gone all the way with a hardtop. Almost look like a two door sedan with an incredibly inharmonious shape.

Please, someone, make those double foglights go away...it just makes me angry. Because Brabus has done it, it does not mean it looks good and the majority of customers would acceot it. If there is a technical/functional reason why they did that set-up, fine, but I'm sure it could been executed much better. It's such a big, nagging blemish on an otherwise elegant design that seriously needs to be AND should have been addressed when it was being designed.

Just as I said a few days ago, Sales Manager will have a training course in Mallorca (Spain) on February. And here are the pics of that event. Note that S-Class is there too. Probably a restyling of S-Class.

And the S-Class Preview means definitely the Facelift - I hope so!!

Yep, same car. The stains are the same but on the other side. I'd say if you could see the tag it would be in reverse as well.

Yep, the top image is flipped. Gas tank should be on this side.

The thing that bothers me most with the new design language is the raised/chubby hood that floats on the car instead of sitting between the fenders.

Is there any other reason besides 'pedestrian safety' for them to do this?

Only Merc can put ugly looking Rims Standard for such as expensicve car, Same for the C and the CL..

Besides that, awesome looking car and much better than i expected...But looks 2 be jus like the CL, Change the rims 2 make it look extremely good...its a shame cozn u pay soo much for the car and then a need to change the rims...

I can't remember any germany brand, that offers great looking rims with the standard package! Well, the Mercedes ones are extreme… …but Audi, BMW…I don't like the standard rims of them too!
