So do I think as well. What can be seen in the picture looks very promising. The vents are just there as a visual anchor for the interior. Once we see the whole cabin, the vents will mellow out.

Not a chance. They will always stand out.m
Definitely not a good thing. And round vents on such a big German sedan are still extremely awkward. I am not going to like it, already know this.
The SLS and SLK both have round vents around the cabin, so it's a feature that we should be accustomed with by now. They are a good feature in the SLK and SLK and I can't see why four vents in the S-Class can't be gorgeous.
The round air vents are surely giving the interior designers major headaches in trying to maximize the size of the LCD screen for the COMAND system. They just cannot match the size of the LCD screens found in the new BMWs and AUDIs.
I serious believe Mercedes needs a new direction in interior design. The quality of materials used may be excellent, but the aesthetic design is mediocre at best. The dashboard of the W222 reminds me of that of an organ found in a cathedral. Just too old school for me.
I'd hate to hear what you think of a Mulsanne or Phantom interior....
doesnt look too bad for a mid range Mercedes model, looks like a cross between Audi and MercedesI lol'd when I saw this Peugeot 508 based rendering:
Any chance the S63 or S600 will be offered with 4matic? Since the GL63 will be with 4matic, the S63 could have that as an option too. I live in the North East and 4matic is a must for me.
http://www.germancarforum.com/commu...brate-45-year-anniversary-tease-future.44764/Even more future AMG models with all-wheel drive
All-wheel drive is set to play a bigger role at Mercedes-AMG in the future too – being offered not just for SUVs and off-road vehicles, but also for other AMG high-performance vehicles. Mercedes-AMG currently has four all-wheel-drive models in its range: the ML 63 AMG, the G 63 AMG, the G 65 AMG and the GL 63 AMG. To mark the start of the new era, in 2013 the new A 45 AMG will be launched with a performance-oriented all-wheel drive system as standard.
http://www.finecars.cc/en/editorial...cow-international-automobile-salon/index.htmlMercedes-AMG deploys a specially designed transfer case for the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive, which distributes the drive power to the front and rear axle at a ratio of 40:60 in the interests of dynamic handling. As if that were not enough, the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with AIRMATIC package – consisting of air suspension, special damper struts, automatic level control and Adaptive Damping System (ADS) – is combined with the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM for active roll stabilisation. This system, which comes as standard and is specific to AMG, employs active anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles to reduce the body's roll angle during cornering. Apart from enhanced agility and driving pleasure, the ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM has the additional effect of increasing handling stability and therefore safety, particularly at higher speeds.
