The front looks fine. The grille isn't as dynamic or mean as the E-Classes, which I guess is a good thing for the S, but I can already visualize them incorporating a more "evil" grin for the facelift. The grille reminds me of the W220 or the pre-facelift W221. However, they are using its massive size to convey stateliness, rather than playing with the shape.
The side dropping line and how crudely it plonks down into the rear wheel well looks like it could be a total deal breaker, it just might be that bad.
I think I like how it seems like they "flared" the chrome/aluminum trim on the rear door/greenhouse slightly as it sits into the bottom of the C-Pillar. Reminds me of a similar concept to how BMW gave flaring impression to that same area on the 7-Series, however with them, by creasing the sheetmetal to its form.
