LOL. That looks like the C Estate from that generation. M-B definitely subscribed to the "same sausage, different size" idiom back then. :D

More like W210 Wagon.... Much more in fact ;) So much it looks like a W210 wagon with W220 rear lights.

Oh dear ... insted of watching and enjoying some nice FEP photos, we are looking at the S class Wagon from 2003 .. So sad ..

^ :D. And here's another one, a 6.9 W116 S-Class converted by Pollmann in Bremen.

Only 2 were made. Very exclusive. ;)

Mercedes Benz S300 ready for a launch in India

Mercedes will launch an S300 model in India (and maybe global)
Isn't it a bit nonsence to launch a new model in the current range while the new S is nearly ready to be launched?

Anything noteworthy here? Any resemblence to the spypics? I think the lines are really off...

Hm, interesting...so no more legendary integrated ''Saccos-Plakettenkühler'' ?
Daimler is going back with the mask:

Otherwise i like the car, i think its going to be again more elegant, with more flowy lines (like the W220 was to W140, the same will be the W222 to W221)...and also the front lights will be bigger and the back lights smaller (like the W126 and W140) ! cant wait to see it!

jp, this model was the right one: it was the new W222 !
and i must say, damm it looks fine!

this is how I see the new W222 :
damm...i need a better program then 'paint' :)

Sonder, what is this ''Saccos-Plakettenkühler" you speak of? I'd love to know what it means.

Your gaphic is excellent. It pretty much confirms that the Auto Bild render of the yellow S shown a few years back is probably about 90% accurate. It's going to look excellent.

@Mr.Mercedes:

Bruno Sacco was the chefdesigner od Daimler from 1980 till 1999 (his last car was the C215 CL-Klasse).
His best 'sculptures' were the baby-Benz (190E), the legendary W124, the BIG W140 and the most beautyful W126 and also others
Bruno Sacco - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With the W140 in 1991 he made a new grill-mask wich was then seen in all Daimlers: it was integrated in the hood and the Mercedes-Star has mooved from the mask to the hood. (the best difference you can see in the W124 from 1984 till 1993 and the facelift-mopf-model from 1993-1995 wich get the new mask)
For my opinion the car looked more modern and fresh with this new style mask....
But now in the w222 i've got the feeling that the oldscool is coming back, because it hasnt got so much edge anymore :)

I believe it is time Mercedes returned to the old school nonintegrated grill-mask at least for the S class. It looks more majestic, aggressive and grown up, gives the car bigger presence. Just look at the difference between w126 and w140. The integrated mask looks too sleek, almost girlish.

The grill is huge..Has a mighty pressence...the lights look like the one picture we saw a while back in the MB factory doing some testing...Also the part between the light and grill dont look cohesive.

Afff... Don´t like it. It looks huge from the front.

Agreed, what's up with the new weird headlight design. Does it really have to wrap around the grill like that? Doesn't look from the spy pics. I pray it looks better in production.
