Here is an article from Georg Kacher, known for its knowledge ofr the upcomming Mercedes models. He claims to expect 6 variants of the new S-Class. The google translator is so bad, but I see:

- S-Class based 4 door Coupe.

I believe Mercedes has been toying with this idea for some time. I remember this concept?
It`s a 4-door coupe idea based off the S-Class back in 2005-06. It was called "CLR"

I'm not sure if this was ever mentioned but I found a news article dating from February 2011 with spyshots of the new S-Class, the pictures are pretty clear on this article.

That looks preposterous! LOL. Look at that stupid crease slashing nonsensically upward. Let's hope M-B doesn't put such a scar on the ultimate of stateliness: The 600.

Actually, apart from the misfit AMG front bumper, and the weird headlights, the rest of the car (minus that hideous crease) could well be refined to looks very stately! It almost has a Bentley Arnage look to it, and definitely draws some inspiration from 1960's-80's S-class models.

But I think it'd be too great a departure from the very successful W221 design and shape.

Wha the greenhouse of that PS is awesomme..but the fron AMG bumper ala pre face lift AMG package S class is a joke.

I actually like the proportion and the general shape, but the details (i.e. all those wayward creases, headlight, some of the softer lines) are off and detract from what is supposed to give off a sense of authority.

A modern 600 Pullman Grosser looks sounds very promising and could give the folks at RR and Bentley a run for their money.
