Yeah, thankfully the boxy shape of the E class is nowhere to be seen.... The S looks much more organic.

Damm, I´m starting to lose patience with this car. They haven´t even put the final rearlights to the mules (which is always the indicative that the FEP is comming in few days). What a pitty there´s no MB insider on this forum that can tell us about the FEP mules.

The AMG version really looks good. The S-Class is best proportioned car in its class, easily. The LWB version just shames the 7, A8 and XJ. There is no ungainly or odd overhangs or anything there like on all the others.

Right. Actually, the S is the only one of the big guys that looks good (even better) in LWB form! The 7er and XJ look absolutely half-assed/terribly proportioned in LWB form.

BTW, I´m happy to see the W222 is gonna feature some aggressive front end. When I see the FL W221 in standard trim, I use to think it lacks some menacing look. Sure the S-Class has to be royal. But an angry face can fit the S-Class perfectly.

PD: And the rear screams CL+CLS.

The proportions..and the way it sits on the road..its so typicall S class..
Got to love it:)

They also showed some SWB's

But you can clearly tell the car at 2:30 min. is a LWB and i'm guessing an S600.

It looks so nice in that video, it has a very balanced shape, great proportions, now only the design featurings must be perfect, headlights and rearlights, the size of the grill, the lights, etc.

I have to agree with you there only to an extent. The 7-Series LWB, I think looks pretty darn sharp in the metal. It`s proportions are clean and sporty in dark colors and is very handsome. The only thing I really don`t like is the rear door cutaway. Hay thats all BMW and you have to respect that.

Btw, I`m glad to see the new S-Class get the new electro-mechanical steering. It`s going to do wonders in the handling department!
(could be the best in class)

The S-Class has had it`s share of steering typs. The od-ball was the "recirculating ball" featured on the W140 S-Class. If anyone else has driven the W140 S-Class you know what i`m talking about.
It`s handling was secure but the feel was robotic, almost video game like. You could almost let go of the wheel for the car to drive itself.

That's a 5-Series. ;)

Black hides everthing, the BMW 7 LWB still is ill-proportioned to me. Sure its a good looking car, from most angles.

I know this may sound kinda weird but I've heard lot's of people talking about the Merc. W140 and the Beamer E38.
I just wanna say that I know this is of-topic and I don't want anyone to ''overreact'' on this question.

SO
Which one is better the W140 LWB or E38 LWB (I don't care about the year)

At the time I believe I leaned more toward the E38, however my now-ex Stepdad had one after another (he was the Owner of a big BMW Dealership and when he sold it, it was part of his payment I guess), so I guess I got really bored of it as well (as you do when you're in long rides of "Parents Cars").

Now, I find the W140 to be a more interesting novelty and I'd prefer it, even if only for its stronger perceived Safety.
