Where's the gig for the total views of the three threads? 1.7 million views :D.
That has to be a record here.
Indeed! Great record!

Btw, splitting those threads in parts, is a really really bad thing. You want everything in one place, and not several.

I look forward to see this thread retired; it has been by far the majority of car-related internet visits. I look forward to the first major leak tomorrow around afternoon; official press releases should hit around evening.

Dear fans of Mercedes Benz S-Class!

I present Mr. Robert Lesnik, head of passenger exterior design at Mercedes Benz:

His latest interview in Slovenia (use Google Translate from Slovenian to English):

His presence at Detroit Motor Show 2013:

Mercedes Benz S-Class W222 is a rock star! Way to go, Robi!
Yikes, my reply credibility has been destroyed if that is true. I seriously was way off to assume that Lesnik wasn't in charge of the W222 exterior design in 2009. I apologize to anyone that I doubted on that topic, as the facts speak for themselves now. I just don't understand why they would leak a photo of a W222 clay model and another random designer working on it, when only G. Wagener and engineers should have extra input on production design.

IS the car in the sketches the S-Class... I do think it looks different and WAY better... actually best BENZ ever...

Nothing really new about S in the interview (for all 2-spoke steering wheel haters, he says you have to see it to "feel" and understand it:) ) but it's nice to read how he became successful - at first he wasn't even accepted to design academy for not being talented enough
A lot of new info there, including how I was incorrect in assuming he wasn't responsible. It looks someone else designed half of the exterior and his vision showed up in the production design. Maybe I'm not so wrong.

The problem with these sketches is that they make the actual car appear underwhelming. Not that I would like my sedan to be that low-slung. But I would not mind the rumored 4-dr coupe to look close to this (and with the actual classic grille)

Thanks for posting proof/justification that some always ask from me. I was too lazy to post it from the investors presentation.

Some like playing dumb. But let them. I'll say that I myself do not know what type of V6 engine BMW M developed, but have had some hints, that I'm not going to tell, because anyway it interests nobody. All know so much more.
You welcome;)

Dude take solace in the fact the those of us here down under will have to wait an entire extra day to see the car! :p

Btw, Lešnik has been Head of Exterior design @ MB for quite a while now. Don't be surprised if he succeeds Wagener sometimes since he seems to be Wagener's protege.
