Absolute nonsense! This better not be unveiled in June, as it seems as if they are now just entertaining themselves with making new "camouflage" puzzles every month. Looking at the first thread, it has been exactly 3 years(February 9, 2010) since the first W222 test mule was caught mixed with W221 and W212 body panels. I hope these reports are false, but maybe not so, considering how the W221 was first caught as a mule(not prototype) in early 2002 and then unveiled over 3 years later in mid-2005.

A new concept car may still be in the pipeline?

A new concept car that will preview the next-generation Mercedes S-class will be unveiled early next year, design chief Gorden Wagener has confirmed.

Mercedes revealed a virtual ‘Aesthetics S’ sculpture at the recent Paris show that first previewed the new S-class, and its themes are expected to be translated into a physical concept car.

Wagener said the design of the new S-class would be “pure and timeless”, combining traditional and new design ethics.

Meanwhile, Mercedes is cutting production of the current S-class in the wake of falling sales as it prepares for the launch of the all-new model later next year.

Let us hope it is not a done up glitzy concept preview to a production model that cannot live up to the hype, a'la CLA. (Then again, we know 90% of what S will look like).

No. There will be a press release towards the end of March followed by the World Premiere at the Shanghai Motor Show Sunday 21st April to Monday 29th April.

There is a concept scheduled on OICA which is the automotive release planner prior to an autoshow. It is basically so manufacturers can pre-plan launches in the run up to a autoshow so they get the best spot prior to the show. Mercedes-Benz has something planned for the last week February- early March. Under the guise Aesthetics-S.
There is a GLA concept coming to Shanghai as well meaning that there will be a strong euro contingent showcasing concepts in China with Maserati , Mercedes-Benz , BMW , VW, Audi and Porsche all planning new concepts in Shanghai.

In the Palexpo , Geneva they already have commenced construction of the stands.

I wanted to send the interior shots to a friend of mine so I tried to look up the pics on auto spies and they weren't there no more. So I went back to the original post here to find the link. It looks like they were ordered taken down by MB(USA).

Ah, I see what you mean now. I thought by "authentic" you meant not real or photoshopped somehow.

Whatever MB's reasons for taking them down, I think it's clear somebody from MB was involved in them being taken and leaked in the first place. It might be that MB only wanted them online for a few days or they've changed their mind.

^ It may be that this "removal" is one more ingenius marketing ploy to reignite a discussion that might have died down. I think photos were seeded by MB themselves through "rogue" agents.
