E-Class (W213/C238/A238) [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213)

The Mercedes-Benz W213 is the fifth generation of the E-Class range. It succeeded the W212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models (C238/A238) share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. Production: February 2016–2023. Model years: 2017–2023.

Two 12.3 inch screen is a huge leap from the current w212 screen. Btw... I remembered the spy shot of the interior late last year showed an analogue speedometer. Had they changed the specification of the car?

I agree. Even the interior spy shot a few posts above show a physical gauge cluster and one primary display.

I hope W213 gets the option to display full maps in the instrument cluster and not just the arrows. Even VW is offering this now.

I don't think that'll be necessary with such a big screen right next to the cluster. It makes sense in a VW/Audi due to their dash design.

A new joint automated driving research project with 16 partners just kicked off, and this pic was published. Not sure if this is planned for the 213 E-Class, though. Might follow a little later. :)

There is just too much parts sharing in the interior these days for MB. This interior I am quite afraid of. It just looks like mix and match of C, S, GT interiors. Doesn't look harmonious and makes the S interior less special when the E looks very similar.

The end result should work out extremely well I think.
Mercedes is really going to turn up the heat on this E as it is going upmarket in design.
It`s interior alone should eclipse cars like the current Lexus LS, Hyandai Equus, Cadillac CT6, and even the beloved 2015 Jaguar XJ, a host of other top enders for that matter. It will definately out do these cars in technolological advancements.

It is really going to cause major headaches for the midsize luxury class as the bar might be raised
too high for their top of the line brothers to follow, let alone themselves.

It's just MB, BMW and Audi there in this class, the rest already wobbles behind.
And there is no question the W213 will raise the bar, but so will BMW and Audi.

I agree with Klier that looks different to the mules. The door line curving down towards the back is not on the mules.

When comes to renders, specially Mercedes renders, there's only one source to rely on and that source is Larson.

You have examples of previous MB renders which are very close and made at least have a year before the actual reveal of the car?

I don't know we're posting renderings anymore anyways, especially ones that are clearly not even close to the real thing. Kinda a waste of space IMO.

We had this before and I tend to agree it's not worth our collective time to look at these renderings too seriously :)

As for the GLC, all of the self-proclaimed computer artists have had NO clue how the final product would look like. At best, we get to see educated guesses which are not even close - and that even from the most renowned car mags (note how Autobild issued three (!) different drawings), and this time even Larson was off. The actual headlight design wasn't predicted by any. So, let's not read too much into any of the existing renderings. I'm sure the final design will be much more appealing than any of these amateur renderings may suggest :)

I wasnt saying that was it, i was just saying that render is what the next E should looks like, however knowing MB nowadays that may be a little too far fetched
