E-Class W213 [Spyshots] 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213)

The W213 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the fifth generation of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, sold from 2016 as a 2017 model. It succeeded the W212/S212 E-Class models. The coupe/convertible models share the same platform as the sedan/wagon, in contrast to the previous generation. The high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 and E63S versions of the W213 have been available as well from 2016 (as a 2017 model), and these are the only versions with V8 engines.
Hmm yeah why does it say that its the old NA 63AMG Engine..

Anyway i got it from a germanforum motortalk.de, where a member posted it..so i can't vouch for the credibility
If the list is correct, there is no change to the petrol engine at all, not even the amg

The list doesn't look credible to me.
1. According to the list, there will be a sport model called E450 AMG. According to MB, all new sport models will use two-digit names (E43 AMG).
2. E63(S) with the old engine? Next to impossible (additional cost, problems with EU's eco-terrorists (CO2), disappointed customers).
3. No hp bump = disappointed customers, again. Especially considering that it would be an "almost 600hp" car.

The S63 AMG Cabriolet that you’ll see in Frankfurt is more or less the last new car we will make with the 5.5-litre V8 engine. The new 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo will be around for a long time, but we’ll keep the ‘63’ badging.

Sure, the 4.0-litre V8 will go in the new E63, and it can match the current standard in the [supersaloon] class. [That’ll be the 600bhp BMW M5 30 Jahre, then].

Headlight graphics look really good so far.

I have the feeling this E is going to be getting some awards down the line.

You will be just kidding yourself if you think they are going to unveil something different. Because that is it. It has been finished by using the most recent up-date spy photographs. It was just a case of filling in the blanks.

Nah I'd be kidding myself in taking anything you have to say about a Mercedes seriously. That isn't an official picture it is still a rendering, not sure what you don't get here. Don't you have a BMW thread to tend to somewhere? You're so full of it to sit here and try to pass off some bullshit hack job as the real thing, only for a Mercedes though. If this were a BMW we'd get a 15 page dissertation as to why this (a rendering) isn't correct or accurate.

Agree. Just a car.
Very few people will be able to buy one brand new.
Most will buy it secondhand, 3-9 years down the road, and by then multiple new cars would have been released.
Also we already have the S class which must be better in every way in order to attract buyers. And if it is not, the next facelift will trump the E guaranteed.

Mercedes mechanics I talk to tell the mercs being made today are nowhere near "the best or nothing" (but that goes for all the brands nowadays). They look good, but are not built to last. Screws are being traded with clips and so on.

I am not a Mercedes hater, I have owned Mercedes for the last 10 years, and I own the w205, and can testify the lack of quality as the car has been to workshop almost 10 times for transmission issues, doors stuck in winter, audio 20 can't raise/lower the volume when colder than -12C, fuel cap not aligned etc.

First year ownership is always going to have problems. That's with most every
brand on earth. This thread is about the new E, Not ownership problems. Lets stay on topic please.

You know what this website needs?

Moderators.

On Airliners.net, one shred of fangirlism will result in a whole thread being deleted, and we wouldn't want that now, would we?

Bimmer fans, go to your respectable threads and worship as you please:worshbmw:

Let us, the MB/AMG crowd, stay in ours. "Year of the 5" and "BMW is the Best" Trolls not welcome, and makes the rest of the BMW crowd look bad!
