I would imagine that the sales volume of the CLS would not justify intensive sheetmetal modifications in the "facelift" process. With models such as the W212, it is a different proposition.

Our spies have sent us the first batch of photos with the 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG facelift, ahead of what is believed to be a late 2014 launch.

We have already seen the regular CLS and its more practical and sleeker Shooting Brake variant undergoing testing so naturally time has come to have a look at the range-topping AMG model. The vehicle will adopt redesigned front and rear fascias with big air intakes, in tone with all of the other recent AMG cars.

Under the hood we don't expect to find any major changes so the 2015 CLS63 AMG will probably come with the same twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine developing 557 HP (410 kW) and a peak torque of 531 lb-ft (720 Nm). It will run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.2 seconds or in 3.7 seconds if you opt for the 4MATIC version. The Shooting Brake derivative will be 0.1s slower in both cases.

For more money clients will be able to opt for the 4MATIC S-Model lifting output to 585 HP (430 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm). In this version the CLS will hit 62 mph in 3.6 seconds while the Shooting Brake will do it in 3.7 seconds. Regardless of the model, Mercedes-Benz will electronically limit speed to 155 mph (250 km/h).

the screen is really huge. Merc goes from having smallest to having the biggest screens in their cars. I just hope they will integrate it better in the 2016/2017 E class. I believe we will see some concept car where we should see where MB will go from here with positioning the screen.

They could have just set it back a little and shaped the wood around it. Do something other than just stick it on.

I still recall the fine C219 inner life, relating to alternative models a Mercedes was distinguished and I hope that the next generation of this model will be a return exactly to the past, without unnecessary defamiliarizations where the car was drawn in one pull of pencil. The car practically didn't age and already passed quite a lot of years from the premiere of the first-generation. At the moment I am confident of the future of the Mercedes because I like the new language of designing very much and I am waiting impatiently for next important projects.

I really don't have any problem with the screens being like that. I think it looks modern, and actually think it looks better than the "integration" BMW has done on their big screens. It almost close enough that it could be a touch screen.

where does the iPad come in at on the dashboard, its ruining the Freng Shui lol. while the screen is big and nice they should have at least integrated it so it can at least look like it belong there. but i do love the sporty steering wheel it look like the one on the BMW 3 series

I just realized the difference between this screen and the one on like the CLA is that there is no frame. It's all integrated under the screen. Makes it look much better

I love the CLS..i hope they don't mess with the rear and front lights of this car..they are perfect to me

The CLS will get a minor facelift only.

For instance the rear lights remain the same, only the red parts will get a little darker like in the older AMG SL's. Further more, the interior won't be changed that much like we've seen in the spy pics. I guess the new screen is needed for the new COMAND generation. I expect the biggest changes in the front where new active multibeam LED headlights will be introduced as well as new bumpers and probably a new hood.

Under the hood I expect the new bi turbo V6 engine (CLS 400) and maybe a horsepower increase for the CLS 550. I also think the new 9G Tronic will be combined with the 3l Diesel engine like in the e-class since both cars share the same plattform.

All in all there is nothing to worry about.
