Yes, I'm almost surprised Audi has no RS5 Sportback.

There's a difference between the 3er GT and the A5. Audi does not have an equivalent to the 3er GT. The A5 Sportback competes with the forthcoming 4er Gran Coupe.

An RS 5 Sportback makes sense, as will an M4 Gran Coupe. An M3 GT makes no sense.

To put it another way......

A5 Sportback = A four-door family car (A4) but with COMPROMISED interior space for a sportier, sleeker look.

3er GT = A four-door family car (3er) but with ENHANCED interior space which compromises the sporty and sleek looks.

TOO SIMILAR TO THE S CLASS BUT IT LOOKS NICE

After looking at the spy pics, I don't think there is going to be significance difference to the front, I am doubtful about the rear though.

I will stick to my guns (and mark this post of mine) as with all the prev.gen. C-class cars and my gone but nor forgotten W203's, it will mimic the W222 @ 97%;) That gives 3% room of differentiation in general design terms between the daddy and it's son. DNA or genetics will provail.

While it is a nice redesign that retains the overall body frame as the W204 i think its dangerously close to the S class which isn't bad in terms of design but we already have BMW and Audi homogenizing their models and Mercedes shouldn't follow suit because this render is almost accurate with the prototypes

Sh*t. The headline says it all.(n)

Les Echos is reporting Renault and Mercedes-Benz have reached an agreement for a diesel Renault engine to power the next-gen C-Class and Vito.
The engine in question is the 1.6 dCi 130HP Energy (aka R9M) which can be had in the Megane, Scenic and Nissan Qashqai. It will be offered for the entry-level model (C 200 CDI) and will go through a series of modifications to be compatible with C-Class' longitudinal engine layout.
Renault's version of the Euro5-compliant engine produces 130 HP (96 kW) at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque from 1,750 rpm. It's being produced at Renault's factory in Cleon where there are 3,484 employees expected to boost production from 2015 since there will be more demand once the new C-Class hits the market.

For me that's not a bad thing per sè, because:

a) Renault makes some of the finest engines in the world, specially diesels.
b) It's probably better than what Mercedes today has to offer (in that size). An excellent Renault is better than a mediocre Mercedes, not mattering how some purist may see it.

C Class has always been similar to S Class and that is good IMO. There size alone is so different, that there is no danger. S Class always looked good, and so did the C Class thankfully. It is just the right poor man's S Class. Never felt cheap however, unlike the current 3 Series which is more like a larger 1 Series Sedan.

Where are those Merc fans that said "bad things" about the french automotive industry?

:D :D

And for those BMW fans that say "bad things" about the Japanses automotive industry? :D:D

Unfair, Japanse cars are now better than BMW, that is why BMW needs Toyota.

Why so biased? And yes the C-class has definitely felt cheap in the past- the pre-facelift W203 definitely did not set a rich-feeling atmosphere at all. The current 3-series is actually a great vehicle, although no longer the undisputed class leader. I don't find it attractive at all though, personally.

Japanese brands definitely do not dominate BMW in all product segments. And I think you need to learn the definition of partnership- BMW doesn't need Toyota, they're partnering on a sports car because there's developmental synergies to be had. If they needed Toyota, they wouldn't already be selling more models than ever. Their partnership with Toyota is limited to a relatively low production sports car, not one of their bread and butter vehicles.

^lol i hate those shots.. taken 1 second later and you would see inside the car.
But OFCOURSE there is only one from this angle.

Its like MB control every single picture.

Here, sir.

I can say I´ve driven a few french cars since I started driving, and while they are nice cars, their engines are far from the german standards, and quite often, as refined as this:
