Could it be that this door trim is for the C Class, after all?

No way in hell ;)

^
Why not? Basically the same style as the S Class, and the size looks just right (for a C)?

Also, you can see the rims on the latest spy picture look like 5-spokes 20 inch that go on the S Class. The seats also look very very much like those in S as well.

It is door panel, but not from S Class. At least, not Sedan. Too small to be from S Coupe.

This is either some prototype-door panel, or panel from a car that is yet to arrive to the market. On closer inspection of some earlier spy photos of the C's interior, I have to admit I'm not so sure it's from the C.

It's NOT the C. It's a prototype panel of the S. there is no way a C class door panel will have that type of quality! The current C class door panel, if you don't get leather, on the back doors has a hard-like plastic trim covering the whole door whereas on the front has the MB tex. If they are cutting corners like that, no way it's that door panel.

May expectations are a high, this is going to be a really nice car, definitely a mini S class.

Me likey!

Those exhausts look huge, however...

Now, the only thing that is left unknown, is the interior style and quality. Please MB, don't f*** up, please don't...

The latest article doesn't mention the hatchback? :)

Mercedes plans bigger, flashier C class

A bigger and roomier Mercedes-Benz C class will have a more dynamic exterior styling to challenge the BMW 3 series and the redesigned Audi A4 also due next year, sources told Automobilwoche, Automotive News Europe's sibling publication.

The fourth-generation C-class sedan will debut at next year's Detroit auto show and will go on sale next summer.

Spy photos suggest the C-class sedan will resemble the redesigned Mercedes S-class flagship that goes on sale in July in Germany.

The C-class will be based on a new rear-wheel-drive architecture and will grow about 127mm (5 inches) in length to 4699 mm (185 inches).

The added size mainly will increase rear seat room. Mercedes also wants to avoid cannibalizing the new front-wheel-drive CLA sedan, which began European sales in April and is close in size to the current C class.

The new C class will have three body styles in addition to the sedan. A coupe version is due in 2015 after debuting at the Geneva auto show that March. It likely will be called the CLK -- a name Mercedes-Benz had dropped.

A convertible version will debut at the Frankfurt auto show in 2015 and will go on sale in early 2016. It will have a fabric top.

A station wagon will debut at the 2014 Paris auto show and will go on sale in Europe in late 2014.

The C-class will be built in Vance, Alabama, for North American markets. European production will be at Mercedes' plant in Bremen Germany.

These are the earlier spy-pics, with luxury grille. However, star on the hood is not shown, and probably won't be until the car is officially presented. Also, there is plastic cover in front of the grille, there are no spy-pics of luxury grille without that plastic over it. Yet:)

Luxury grille has three bars, Sport one has two.
