C-Class (W205) [Spyshots] 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) Spy Photos

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.

I think it's obvious that within 12-13 months the W205 C-Class will be fully leaked one way or another, if the AutoBild renders aren't 99% real. Even though I was initially surprised to see it uncovered 2 weeks ago, we really shouldn't be shocked or believe it's development is moving extremely fast. This is a car that will likely be introduced in 14 months, so I it's sensible for it to be testing now devoid of a heavy disguise or "camouflage". The only unusual thing is how they got caught with an entirely undisguised prototype(except the taillights). It's safe to say the photographer may seen the front before it was covered and Larson's renders are correct.

I am kind of worried that it's going by too fast because it sort of tell m that they are pulling a Lexus LS on us but I doubt it because they already gave us a extensive refresh last year with a overhaul on the interior and 2000 exterior updates t keep us holding until the w205 arrives but shall they do pull an LS on us I rodent be too let done because I like the w204 body frame but I'll still love to see a new generation

I do like the general arrangement, the vents, the stack of buttons beneath them, nice metal touches at the door handle, electris windows buttons, BUT THE PLASTIC at the bottom of the cabin, and cassete in front of front passenger... Last time plastic in Mercedes looked that bad in the picture, it was on the A class when it was lauched. And it looks not-so-good in real life. I dont mind it on the A class, but on the C?:inpain::(... The dials also look stupid, and cheap.

I'm also not so sure about plastic that goes around screen. In other photos it looked like piano-black, whereas here, it looks... again, cheap. (Not that I like piano-black, but it sure looks better than this).

Can someone please assure me its only test-vehicle, and it will be better quality when they launch it? :nailbiting:

don't forget that you're looking into a car thats still a prototype and has almost another year ahead of its official debut

I hate to say it, but the materials and general "vibe" I'm getting reminds me of the W204 pre-facelfit interior. There's a distinct feeling you get when you sit in a W204 pre-facelfit that makes you dry heave.... the materials and layout and smell is so austere, cold, and harsh. Hopefully it's the intense flash or something. Whatever plastic M-B introduced on the W204 and have carried over to even the W212 and have even downgraded on apparently in the new A (in areas), they should cut contracts with.

The w212 interior has a more refined plastic than the w204 pre facelift interior. The w204 post facelift interior has a more refined plastic than even the w212 interior. The A-class appears to have an entirely different grain. But one thing you should know by now is never to judge an interior, particularly a black one, based on a photo taken with a flash, whether it be a test vehicle or the finished product sitting on the mortoshow stand. They all look poor.

Unfortunately, I agree. When I had a Loaner facelift W204, I couldn't help but find some materials better than my E. Really pissed me off. Once again, the discordance in M-B gets to me. The F30 has a better interior than the E90, but it's still nowhere near as plush and refined as the 5-Series interior. I wish I could say the same about the C's interior VS the E's. I'm sure the E facelift will get mended some, but again, early buyers get screwed with sub-par materials. If I had a pre-facelift W204 I'd feel like my car just lost about 10 years of its life after sitting in a facelift W204, which literally feels like a 10 year newer car.

I'd say that M-B would at least keep the W205's interior on par with the W204 facelift or of course as expected, improve it (material wise), but as the W204 proved, after it got a big drop in refinement from the W203 facelift interior, as did some parts of the W212 VS the W211, that's not always the case with M-B.

At least the ML has a good interior, probably even more refined materials than the E, so that's a hopeful sign.

To be hones

to be honest sitting in the pre fl W204 is equivalent to sitting in a nutshell if you get a striped model thees absolutely nothing unique or luxury about it the one i sat in didnt even have simple driver conveniences like heated seats or a sunshade the leather didnt feel plush and everything was black

I agree. I was mortified the first time I sat in one. My W211 was always in the shop so I got to know the pre-facelfit W204 pretty well. I used to think "how can anyone defend this car with this horrid interior", and kept saying how lousy it was for M-B to try and pass that off as a Mercedes interior. Turns out I was right as they did a huge about-face and changed the whole thing for the facelift. They really should have never stooped so low as to charge people any premium on a car with an interior like the pre-facelift.

The facelift W204 on the other hand has an interior that can make a W212 owners feel slighted by M-B.

The ML's interior has its own issues, and it is not way better than the E. The W204 did receive a significant interior upgrade at the face lift, it isn't better than the W212, but it came uncomfortably close to it.

Hope the car will have a Touch pad if the S class gets it then i am sure the C will but i didnt see it in any S class spy shots

That's not good, at least I thought the ML's interior was a step in the right direction. It's true it does have some hard "Jeep-like" surfaces, but at least it's an SUV. The E's interior should be much more elegant than it, but even if it is, it's not a wide enough margin.

Yes, the W204 facelift interior did come uncomfortably close to the current W212 interior, all notable when I drove the car as a loaner. Makes me realize why M-B has to push insane incentives to move an E-Class (in the States, it's not much more expensive to Lease than a loaded Camry, and that's not exaggeration, people are getting insane discounts on them, though BMW isn't much different in this regard, maybe even worse).

Now lemme guess because someone said that the ML interior has issues, you now think that? How about examining the interior for yourself.

the ML has one of the best interiors in its class compared to its competitors like the Q5 and BMW X5 its modern and has a plush feel, this is from my own experience

My experience too, but hey. ML and new GL have very rich interior, especially for U.S. made Benzes.

No, but it's not perfect as it carries some nu-era M-B plastics. I stick to thinking it has better material quality than the E, since it has a plusher dash and some actual soft-touch material (it's like striking gold when I feel an M-B surface that has soft touch these days, after getting used to the hardness in the E-Class) which shows discordance as the E shouldn't be outdone by an SUV.

The next-generation Mercedes C-Class (W205) has been testing for a while now and here we have the first spy shots taken in Spain, showing the prototype with less camouflage. Engineers are also continuing to test prototypes with the old black camouflage, though the prototype now has new exhaust tips compared to our previous shots.
The prototypes now have a black and white front and rear end, revealing more details of the shape and the new design of the next generation C-Class.
Engine details are limited, but expect to see a wide range of petrol and diesel units, as well as a new hybrid and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new C-Class is expected to make its debut in late 2013 and eventually will be available at first as a saloon, followed by estate, coupe and convertible.
