C-Class (W205) [Spyshots] 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) Spy Photos

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.

I am kind of worried that it's going by too fast because it sort of tell m that they are pulling a Lexus LS on us but I doubt it because they already gave us a extensive refresh last year with a overhaul on the interior and 2000 exterior updates t keep us holding until the w205 arrives but shall they do pull an LS on us I rodent be too let done because I like the w204 body frame but I'll still love to see a new generation

Sorry, I never realized I got a reply in this thread, as I was very busy packing on November 20th. Anyway, this looks to be a very strong evolutionary philosophy as it is mimicking the changes of the larger W222 S-Class. Not so much like the very disappointing Lexus LS facelift that was purposely hyped as if it was a next generation model. I like it much more than the current model(W204) so far and might wait for it if I hate the appearance of the 2014 Infiniti G37. Then again, I want a stick and I doubt a top trim-level C-Class will offer one. The M3 may be a better bet as it will be out in time.

I'm guessing these wouldn't count as FEP models, despite a more exposed front fascia? I'm surprised those shots from autoevolution of the uncovered prototype haven't caught fire around the web, as that's never happened with a model that's still 1-2 years out.

No, but it's not perfect as it carries some nu-era M-B plastics. I stick to thinking it has better material quality than the E, since it has a plusher dash and some actual soft-touch material (it's like striking gold when I feel an M-B surface that has soft touch these days, after getting used to the hardness in the E-Class) which shows discordance as the E shouldn't be outdone by an SUV.

As we both share the same concerns and expectations in perceived and tactile quality, luckily in you home country, your local brands does serve as a point of reference of late. Just giving a glimpse of what buyers expect in the worlds largest economy. For that I am greatly appreciative, the Germans however has to and has to know they should ALWAYS do it better that any other manufacturer elsewhere in the world. Thus kudos to GM etc. for at least trying to flex some P&T quality muscle.(y)

For me it looks like it's already in FEP stage now compared to the S-Class which is only maybe several months away from its premiere, isn't that exposed with its front parts. But according to the site, this new C will be revealed at late 2013 so around 1 year from now, is it normal to enter FEP stage at this time?

I think so, especially for German automakers that wisely invest in significant real-world testing. It depends on the model though, as the S-Class always requires more field testing than the others. I think 15-18 months is the number for FEP testing lead time to production, as the same happened with the W204 going FEP in March 2006. The W222 was first spotted as a prototype exactly 2 years ago in December 2010 and entered FEP 14-15 months later.

This W205 prototype looks like a cross between the 2010 W222 and the February 2012 FEP, reminding me of the GL Prototype you posted almost 2 years ago. I say that as the W222 has real taillights in FEP and the W205 does not. Do you think it's possible that they were testing a mule all this time, until recently? All of sudden, I think it's very possible as a few people suspected that back in January.

doubt it will take that long (but you never know with Mercedes) it shouldnt be long before we see the FEP i give it at least by April next year maybe even a little earlier, but the reason why the S class is going on three years of testing lies in all those arrticles discussing the new features

The proportions look fabulous imo! Now lets hope the details and lines will be sweet too! The current C63 (and particularly the pre FL exterior) is a modern classic....

I can't wait for some new pics which will reveal more of this cars details. I have high expectations both on exterior and interior. We must beat the F30.

New Mercedes C63 AMG to get 4.0 V8

Latest downsized AMG powerplant to appear in C-class before the mooted SLC sports car
Mercedes-Benz’s AMG performance off-shoot is planning to provide the successor to today’s naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 powered Mercedes C63 AMG with an all-new turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 powerplant – the same unit earmarked for the company’s upcoming Mercedes SLC sports car.
The new unit has been developed along modular lines and is said to share the same individual cylinder capacity, bore centre spacing and other specific details with the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder earmarked for the Mercedes A45 AMG and Mercedes CLA45 AMG.
Insiders indicate the new unit, which is claimed to deliver over 450bhp in an initial state of tune but is said to be capable of pushing out up to 600bhp, will eventually replace the naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V8 used exclusively by the Mercedes SLK55 AMG, providing a stepping stone to AMG’s larger turbocharged 5.5-litre V8.
AMG boss Ola Kallenius stopped short of officially confirming the new engine to Autocar at the Los Angeles motor show at the tail-end of last year, but hinted smaller engines were coming.
“We’ve already had downsizing to 5.5 and sophisticated direct-injection technology – we’ll see more of that in the future,” he said. We’ve already gone down to 5.5 and that's the technological road we’re on.”
As well as flaunting a new engine, the replacement for the C63 AMG will be the first of the German car maker’s performance saloons to offer the choice of rear- and four-wheel drive in right-hand drive versions.

As soon as the Official photo's of the new S-class surface we'll have a 89% idea of what the next C-class will look like. And as klier said, I agree the proportions looks fab!

IMO, you could snatch the 4.6 bi-turbo V8 out of an S-class and have all the performance you'd ever need. I understand the AMG relationship, but sometimes you have to realize that you already have a marvelous engine at your disposal. Especially in this economy. I imagine a few mods would put that engine over 450 hp.

^That´s because it´s the 4.0 V8 the one that will replace the 4.6 in a few years.

Because there is none of that FWD cr@p here, just pure RWD architecture (of course, with AWD available)
