Wasn't standard on all models though, matching leather was. (W220 Shifter)

Yeah, but they are two different type of gear leavers. One is just a stalk the other is a traditional gear shifter. The W220 was such a cheap car inside and out so don't see how the gear shifter makes a difference overall.

M
The gearshift was probably the only good quality item in the interior of the W220 lol. It's a pity the W221 changed to a bus like column shift afterwards.

So convenient though. I always find myself turning on wipers in other cars thinking it’s the gear lever.

Yeah, for the W220 the facelift seats and shifter were of decent to good quality ... the rest not so much.

I think the rear will resemble the new GLS and the headlights similar to the FL GLC

A "tall" car, similar to its' W222 and W221 predecessors. Just a millimeter or two shy of 1500mm. Personally, I prefer large sedans that are lower slung (perhaps a somewhat redeeming asset of Audis' A8, for example). Or opting to go straight to the sedoupe genre. But that's admittedly subjective and a tall car ensures a higher degree of entry comfort and headroom. A choice between "sportiness" or "stateliness".

Maybe the EQS will fit your preferences, it will most likely be lower than the S-class, maybe closer to 1400mm high and sleeker. If you look at luxury cars such as Rolls and Bentley, the new models are 1500mm and over and even the older classic models were very high saloons in their time and probably closer to 1600mm high.

EQS must be higher than 1400 mm. The EVs have their battery in the floor, and usually it is between 120-170mm high so this should be compensated by the vehicle's height. I would suppose 1450 mm.

VAGs' J1-platformed BEVs', the Porsche Taycan and (soon) Audi Sport eTron GT, measure 1380mm in height. Perhaps M-Bs' BEV platform is highly scalable can accomodate "low ride height" derivatives (?).

Why not we take the discussion about EQS in its respective page???

No, they cut a recess in the battery so that there is a small place to put your feet lower but this for sure is not applicable to a comfortable sedan.

Guys are there any news about more recent interior photos?

Just posted some interior EQS spy shots in this thread: :)
