As long as Mercedes carry the philosophy of 'Modern-Luxury' for their new cars we'll have to except the future cars come out from factory as mixture of more modern techs & lesser elegant looks. However I personally feel that the sub brand Maybach should incorporate more elegant/classic touch to its variants on a higher percentage than at present & distinguish it from the regular S-class. The Concept 6 cabriolet is a good example where you can see analog meters replacing the present screen but for the infortainment they have larger wider screen which spread up to passenger side.

If Mercedes try to make the next Maybach same as they did with the present one by just extending the wheelbase it won't be as accepted as now. If you look closely almost all the features are available in Maybach can be opted in a top spec car; and the interior look exactly the same. I have even got to hear from few of my Maybach friends why did we paid extra just for some more extra space in rear when we have not even getting a substantially improved features or leather or trim.

I was so happy to see the elegant looking two-spoke steering wheel when it was introduced in S-Class, now miss that after the FL. The new one ofcorse look good, especially the AMG one is outstandingly gorgeous, but it lack the classic touch of the two-spoke. They could have atleast retained the two-spoke in Maybach variant.

I agree with most of that, and yes they should have kept the older steering wheels for the Maybachs, but updated it but still with two-spokes.

...and it appears...almost...svelte ! And that's a good thing.
The car looks huge from the side profile, and there is quite a lot of distance between the front passenger and the rear passenger. I wonder if this is the Maybach version? If not, how long is long enough for the S class?

V223 version, I suspect.

Poor 7er is so angry seeing the new beauty coming ;) The proportions of W223 look fabulous, it seems even sleeker and more athletic than current one. My expectations are extremely high now, I hope the details of the new S-class will be right.

The can't get more than 2 years or so before they get clobbered again. It's quite funny. The new A8 will shine for 2 years and then be run off the road again. The Lexus LS what?
