In my opinion W222 interior is something like this:

and G11 interior something like this:

To avoid missunderstanding, I like G11s interior, it has nice details and I believe that quality is top notch, but as I mentioned before, too simple look, simple lines.

This to me looks more like the difference between RR & BMW. It would need a lot more curves and rounded objects to represent the S class. It's a little too even.

The decidedly bourgeois taste of the Mercedes-Maybach interior is much closer in atmosphere to that fussy room than the Rolls.

The whole philosophy behind Rolls-Royce interiors has been simplicity and Modernity fabricated with traditional techniques.

The amount of amateurism BMW has shwn recently with all these leaks is staggering.

Definitely, but in the past, other automakers have had less than ceremonious leaks like these on their websites. The Schiphol leak was the worst, IMO.

3 more days... unless there's another leak till then.

To my eyes, both of those pictures were rather complex but the top picture was more aesthetically pleasant to look at. The bottom picture was modern and that was it.
But, I completely agree with what you're saying, and next to the S class, that room looks just like it. It's actually the other picture that's an off representation of the G12's interior which is more similar to the Rolls Royce philosophy of modern minimalism.

Just want some confirmation here--are all the silver-coloured pieces of trim some sort of metal or ceramic? I see lots of it throughout the interior (steering wheel, center console, transmission area, etc.) WOW. Is that all high quality and cool to the touch (ie: not plastic)?

What I find underrepresented in most statements is the fact that there is more or less no single button in that whole interior that has been used in another model before (exception: pitman arm). That is new for BMW. And I hope (and have some reason to guess) that they will not start to introduce all those nice details (iDrive button, climate control, power seat/power window keys) in the G30 etc.

If the thing drives as good as it promises I'm in ... even though at that price, I probably will not get it from the company :(
Would you share your 'reason to guess' with us @Busty? I'd be much obliged.

Not official info but...

Interior:
The benchmark at this point is the Benz s550 which has an amazing interior and has forced everyone in the segment to raise their game. New 7 catches up and although some of it is optional passes it in some regards. The rear seats get a tablet to control all functions of the car (galaxy tab w/ custom firmware) footrests, fragrances, solid metal on all buttons the standard hvac temp display seemed oled and really nice, ton of ambient lighting and options backlit speakers etc (bordering on too much) . A lot of customization options diamond stitching, an msport interior sample was shown. Overall felt a huge step up from my 2012 740li, I'm sure a lot of it was optional extras but it was beautiful.

With Audi's dashboard display possibly making it to production, BMW might have to bring there's for the sake of appearances, and enhanced "functionality."

The only reason why Audi and Ferrari are using them is that they are foregoing a central screen in place of Al driver and infotainment being in the dash.

With the Black Panel Display or HUD showing the driver where the next turn is and what song is playing. The driver rarely needs to fiddle with the central screen during motion and thus the passenger is free to use it.

Exactly. And the main goal of this philosophy is to create a certain atmosphere of serenity. No busy lines, no busy decor etc ... Simple, modern, rich but certainly not Scandinavian cold & minimalistic.

The amount of amateurism BMW has shown recently with all these leaks is staggering.

Recently. Don't you recall E90 3er brochure years ago ... revealing E90 3er almost 6 months before the official reveal!

So, leaked images and info a few day before the scheduled official reveal are rather benign. :D

Exactly. Passenger screen only makes sense when there's no central screen (and driver is using HUD and cockpit display behind the steering wheel).

And now with introduction of touchscreen I doubt BMW would ditch central screen anytime soon. It's now a part of G-model UI solution. Mind the dashboard architectures for CLAR & UKL are the same across CLAR and UKL line up. Don't expect any CLAR or UKL model with significantly different dashboard layout.

The only models that could possibly feature passenger touchscreen instead of a central one are the sports models based on a BMW+Toyota dedicated sports car modular architecture. There such a solution makes more sense than in sedans, SAVs etc.

Huuuuge price bump.....20-30k euros over S class.....

That is not quite right. The passenger screen solution came from supplier side (that is why both Audi and BMW experimented with it) to circumvent legal issues. For volume vehicles, the central display is not put in question, neither at Audi nor at BMW. The instrument cluster has little to do with it. As long as the HMI passes all or most regulation tests, there will be no additional screen. As soon as important functions (as defined by the end user and/or the management) don't pass, the additional screen (or some similar solution) will come, regardless of whether there is a central display or not.

@Mick Briesgau: I know that F01 customer tests showed that people were not amused about the great resemblance with the F10. At the same time, the F10 was perceived as a little too comfy and turgid by its customers. The conclusion was to push the 7 up and to sharpen the 5. I saw some HMI test panels for the G30 and they look similar but not identical to the G11. And I know, the buttons around the iDrive controller in the G11 are really little masterpieces and expensive in production. Therefore, they might also just not pay off in the G30.

But it's not a few days before. There were the completely undisguised real-life G11 photos taken at Schiphol of the exterior and interior six months ago. This is worse than the leaked brochure pics because at least the brochure pics were official photographs.

This time, there have been three leaks on one single product, and what a product, their new flagship car.

The passenger screen is something very much in the thinking. It has been tested in the 7er as @Busty had illustrated in his sketch which I had confirmed.
Also under development is the next incarnation of iDrive which again will be touch sensitive again previewed on Vision Future Luxury.

The interior of the 5er Gran Turismo is like the G11 although the vent wood panel is flatter like the current car. We will see carryover switchgear to the next 5er and other models.

BMW should just kill off the 7 series. It has the Rolls Royce marque which it should milk and create a model line below the Ghost to go head to head with the S class. That WILL potentially destroy the S-class sales since Rolls Royce > Mercedes Benz....

This is SUCH an underwhelming product; I 'hope', when I see them IRL, the G11/12 looks a tad better.

That's hardly a leak then ... it's a scoop. Scoops happen to others too. S-class W221 was scooped undisguised @ "evaluation clinic" way before introduction. Completely naked Audi A8 D4 was scooped - exterior & interior way ahead of the launch. So ...

Leak is when some official material leaks. Promo material, patent drawings or sketches etc etc But such occasions are rare.

While scoops are quite frequent though.

The F01 has panoramic sunroof optional, no?

I've always thought the pano roof has been an option on lower BMW's. I love it on my E70 & will probably never get another car without it.

But this is nice:
