GT [Spy shots] 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT Spied

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.

I was into it until number 9!

Anyway that's not too bad, I spent more in Blackpool on a fine settimana sporco. Nevermind.
1- Ok
2-3-4 - Isn't that free if you go to a dealership? In addition, if they are given the C63s to try, the most likely is that they will lose customers
5- Breakfast at home before leaving...?
6 - Ok
7 - Isn't that free if you go as a tourist to the factory?
8 - Especially how not to take the wrong car when there is a 911 parked next to your AMG GT?
9 - That's great! the best stage of life

Mercedes is in a design crisis, its a copy/paste 992.
Thing is the new SL has less presence than the previous one and 992. Interior is meh too.

There's a resemblance yes I don't disagree with that. But I remember what some of the Aston Martin guys and even the non Aston Martin guys (the average enthusiastic car person) said when the Ferrari Roma was launched saying Ferrari had "ripped" the design off! - Like Centri Stile need to even bother at that.

Here the side profiles are the worst to compare you need all three sides plus birds eye view for a definitive answer.

When I remind some of them, probably on YT then, (and I'm a big Aston man) that the Ferrari didn't have a ducky beak it wasn't received very well!

I mean, having to be exactly 21 years old is indeed odd ;)

2024 Mercedes-AMG GT teased, you can pay to see it before it debuts!

It costs €450 to attend the AMG GT Live Sneak Preview in Affalterbach.

"Mercedes has figured out a clever way to make some extra money by inviting people to get an early look at a future model before its official debut. Known as the AMG GT Live Sneak Preview, it's an event that will be hosted next month in Affalterbach for those who are eager to see the second-generation AMG GT Coupe ahead of its world premiere. It will be held every day between 10 and 13 July, but the first three days are already fully booked.

Aside from checking out the new GT Coupe in the metal, the full-day visit at the home of AMG gives attendees the opportunity to drive the SL63, C63 S E Performance, and EQE 53. Upon arrival, participants will have breakfast in the AMG Private Lounge before receiving a mandatory safety briefing. After that, you'll get a tour of the factory where magic happens and then a product expert will tell you all there is to know about the new Porsche 911 rival.

To take part in the event, Mercedes says you must be 21 years old and a member of the AMG Private Lounge Community. Obviously, you're also going to need a valid driver's license to get behind the wheel of those AMGs. The event – which will have groups of no more than 24 people – will be held in German and English. After the event ends, attendees will receive images taken by a professional photographer. To take part, it costs €450 or about £385 at current exchange rates.

We still don't know when the 2024 AMG GT Coupe will be publicly revealed, but since the private debut is set to take place in a couple of weeks, the world premiere is likely around the corner. One can assume those who will take part in the AMG GT Live Sneak Preview will have their smartphones taken away to avoid spoiling the big debut. That said, we've seen our fair share of blurry images secretly taken at these events on social media, so don't be too surprised if someone will be able to sneak in a phone."

🤔
Just can't wait for this one (Maybe goodwood for public) and truly hope V8 only will be on the card, i know E-Performance version is V8.

I think E Performance V8 is a mistake for the GT. It looks like a near-sucess on the S Class based on most reviews, but I cannot see how the extra 1,000 lbs o weiight can help what is meant to be a sports car.

At least, I hope there is a V8 options similar to the SL 63/55.

The teaser image for that earlier leak, with the covered car, does not look like the spy pics. Specifically the front end treatment. The car under looks like a SL front, which the spy pic above clearly contradicts.

AMG should keep an eye over their shoulder. The new Astons will be sporty and potentially lighter than hybrid Mercs. Aston’s performance in F1 is currently not too bad either compared with Mercedes.

Fun times ahead for AMG fans.

But the UI and switchgear of the Astons is so OLD tech.

I don't know why Mercedes doesn't just buy Aston and use it as brand within it's portfolio. While much better since Zetsche, they still aren't the masters of brand management as their fellow German counterparts at VAG and BMW Group.

Smart by Mercedes - Everything below the CLA. Funky and cool. Add the 'by Mercedes' for extra cache. EV's only.
Mercedes - Nothing below the CLA.
Maybach - High end luxury Mercedes trim with some bespoke models like the SUV Coupe and perhaps a grand 4 door coupe. Don't just make it another Rolls Royce competitor model for model.
AMG - High end sports Mercedes trim with some bespoke models such as a Taycan competitor.
Aston Martin - Bespoke models based on CURRENT AMG and Mercedes tech. So much scope to do Ferrari and Bugatti like vehicles with UI's, autonomous driving and other digital luxury and technology integration beyond what the Italians could dream of.

Not for long. 2024 model year Astons with updated interiors could be a force to be reckoned with.

DB12, 671hp: £185k
SL 63 4matic Performance, 585hp: £179k

Fit and finish and UI might also be superior in the DB12 - we will find out in the next couple of days.

However, AMG have more headroom for discounts. Hopefully for the AMG GT, Mercedes won’t overly rely on e-performance to market the car.

Where are they getting the tech from, if not old MB tech?

It's either their own in house or it's external OEM. Probably the latter or collaboration.

Ultimately it doesn't matter either way because Mercedes Benz or AMG don't manufacturer everything themselves, they don't. Nobody does, it's practically impossible.

But it's certainly a very valid and interesting question I'll look into it at some point, I guess it didn't matter much before.

That’s because the leaked pic was from the lower end version, with the smaller grille.

They are worthless and their future viability is shit, that´s why.

Also Stroll Sr. comment about Comand being shit and not worthy in his "precious" cars offened me a lot. Come on, the G-Class does have Comand, too. Yet it does generate easily more revenue for MB than the whole AM brand alone.

Mercedes is not one to buy other car brands that I know of, they already have enough on their hands... since they absorbed Maybach (probably by two sticks) and wanted to buy BMW, all in the middle of the last century, they have not bought any brand, or if?
