Quattroporte [Spy Shots]:2014 Maserati Quattroporte

The Maserati Quattroporte is a four-door full-size luxury sedan produced by Maserati. The name translated from Italian means "four doors".
If they base it on anything Chrysler they're going to fail miserably. The SUV is one thing, that is a new product for them, but to base the Quattroporte on anything related to the 300/old W210 derived E-Class bones is a HUGE mistake.

Spy Photos: 2014 Maserati Quattroporte Gets Chrysler Interior

How can Insideline really think that they are going to use a Chrysler-derived interior in the QP? It's a mule that's in testing phase!

However, if they do use a gussied-up Chrysler interior, then Marchionne and the rest of the gang are just plain idiots! "Hmmm....do I want to spend over $100K on something that has a Chrysler interior or would I rather get a Merc S-class?" I really hope the gang at FIAT know what the correct answer to that question is, otherwise they already lost the plot.

^^
You are right. Those knobs look like they are straight out a GM or Ford car. The Quattroporte hasn't done well in reliability and build quality, which is no wonder owners are abandoning them for little money.

That's a STRAIGHT up Dodge/Chrysler interior. Probably the Chargers or something. Would be insane if they put that in a Maserati! I.e, kiss Maserati goodbye.

It seems the latest spy pics show clearly the renders I posted back on January were legit:

FUGLY GM interior...

This can't be true. They're going to base the new Quattroporte on the 300/Charger platform which is a hand me down from the W210 E-Class of nearly 20 years ago?

This can't be true. If they do that you surely can kiss Maserati goodbye. Buyers will not go for that. I better pick up a used Granturismo or Quattroporte now then because Maserati is finished if they do this. The SUV based on something else is one thing, but this is nuts.

Wow! This is truly despicable. I don't quite know what to say.

Then again, I gave up on Maserati after the Shamal from the early 1990's. So no big deal for me.

I'm SURE that it must be a "mule" interior, but it doesn't matter to me. They can gussy it up however they want, that picture shows what it is at its core, a Charger/300, and for Maserati bucks, I don't want any origins of a "cheap" American car, be it chassis, hard points, tech, etc.

And a hush falls over the room............unbelievable is what it is, it appears they are going to base the next QP on a damn Chrysler 300/Charger. This is fail miserably.

After looking at the latest spy pics, I have to say the renders are quite accurate, and I think it look quite good. Are there any reports confirming that this car is based on the 300c, or are people just saying it because the prototype uses the dashboard of the 300c? Either way I don't have much expectation of this car, and the future of Maserati. Just how can the previous and current management group get it so horribly wrong?

The question is why would they go through the trouble of using a whole interior of a Chrysler in the first place if they weren't basing the car on the same chassis. Maserati doesn't have that type of budget to do that. I can't believe it either, but there it is, a 100K Maserati based on Chrysler, again. This isn't the first time they've done this crap. The interior door panels look like a Maserati in that one shot above. Fiat must think high-end buyers are incredibly stupid to think they can do this. As I've said before, with the SUV sure they may be able to get away with it, people will be gaga over a Maserati "truck" and just buy it, but even then some will spot it for what it is. However with a known lust object like the Quattroporte they're going to fool no one. I predict this will fail miserably.

Better go get a Quattroporte now if want a real Maser.

The only positives I can see is that the inner door trim is straight from the current Quattroporte. Maserati needs Ferrari back badly, I still don't understand how things didn't work out between the two, Maserati is the perfect sub brand for Ferrari, it can us Maserati to launch cars that it can never build, while giving them close to Ferrari's level of handling and performance, but with more focus on comfort and luxury.
