Don't exactly know whether to categorize this as a teaser or spy shot(since some could show later this year). It seems that Lexus intentionally(and rather unnoticeably) teased front of their next generation LS flagship. I also found a second non-silhouette teaser(move to 0:06)

Lexus need to go back to the drawing board with that desperate and overwrought/cheesy front end attempt at earning "cool points".

The current LS is an inoffensive looking car, dated on the inside and pretty much a yawner to drive, but that is what its buyers like. I don't the cyborg look is going to go over too well with the conservative set. I really don't think that is the LS. Could it be the ES?

What the hell are they thinking about? I can understand and fully appreciate that Lexus needs to infuse some passion into their brand but that grille is rediculous.

This is going to get me killed, but I really considered an LS to be driven around in. I can really understand the appeal of the car, especially if you take a ride around it in the back. I'd say its a smidge away from the S-Class in terms of comfort. Dynamically speaking, it sucks, but I don't think that's really a criteria for a luxobarge like this if you ask me. Its looks are fitting for this car. Its simple, conservative- and dare I say even classy- and this new gen is going to ruin that.

I agree with you. ^^

Nothing that I'd buy or like as a car enthusiast, 'cause I need more passion, and I don't like the interior layout of the feel of the car in any which way (the Lexus "style" of doing things isn't for me), but it's functionally amazing at what it does, and is easily one of the best carefree Luxury cars to drive around in, "carefree" in the sense that you don't need passion or attachment with a car who you delegate that duty to.

Also, this segment does need a classy, very understated, proudly "boring" car, and Lexus has that down pat. It's not a bad thing at all, and there's a big base for it. Them trying to get "spicy" is going to be them losing at everybody else's game, and them butchering the grace that the cars before it had.

Not really much of a change, but slightly different angles from previous teasers. Silhouette effect isn't there anymore on first two pics. There are more, but I will not post them as they are not really verifiable.

I am impressed. I was expecting an A7+7er+S-class hybrid since their LS also seems to take design cues from one of the three.

I think Lexus is really gonna get malled this time with the LS vs the new S. The S550 stomped the LS460 around the world in every test going, this time it will be even worse.

^^
Sigh. You wonder whether Lexus should even bother this time around. The new S will be leaps and bounds from all aspects.

I wonder if your guys confidence is misplaced. Lexus knows they have to bring it to the table and they know a new S-class is imminent. While I'm quite certain I'm going to prefer the S-class's style, Lexus may just come up with something techonologically astounding.

That said, the fanboy in me wants the S-class to give the LS a good ass kicking. (y)

I sadly missed getting both the W222 and the 7-series LCI pics up, but since no one has done so for the LS, here is more.

Technically, I wouldn't write the LS off so fast. Lexus usually brings more "goodies" to the table to try and compensate for their lack of natural appeal. The LS could give the S a technicality run for its money, but it probably won't touch it emotionally or "naturally".

This time I don't think it will touch Mercedes in either way. Mercedes' quality is back so they'll be trying to out-innovate everyone else again with the new S-Class.

True. The last S-class was quite tame in terms of innovation. I think this new S-class will be a statement.

It does have goodies indeed. The one aspect where the current LS shines is rear seat entertainment, the flagship model is as close as one can get to the comfort of a Maybach but at a third of the price.
