LS Spy Shots: 2014 Lexus LS

It does have goodies indeed. The one aspect where the current LS shines is rear seat entertainment, the flagship model is as close as one can get to the comfort of a Maybach but at a third of the price.

Exactly. That thing is literally like sitting on a lounge chair from destination to destination. It's actually SO quiet. It's the perfect luxury A-B car.

And you can get the exact same thing in a Hyundai Equus for less than the Lexus, so what is your point? Highly irrelevant if the ride/handling isn't in place for you to enjoy it. Only shows that features don't make a luxury car.

More, but it seems a bit underwhelming from these pics compared to the W222 spy shots.

curious to see how the GS interior language will be translated in the LS. It'd behoove Lexus's hybrid model to be V6-based and be frugal rather than retread their current failed approach of having their hybrid be more 'performance' oriented.

To me when Automakers try to incorporate a a new design scheme on all its models it never really work, like Acura with their power plenum grille it only works best on the TL while it looks out of place on the RL, and ZDX. same here with Lexus so far the Spindle grille only seem to fit one model to a tee and thats the GS, it looks okay on the ES, so far with the LS it looks a little weird. i guess it only work with the first model that it debuts on

I agree with the point SKYSONY is making here. We may be pleasantly surprised. I also like the fact that they will be offering a more sport-oriented line. A little late to the party, but it could make them much more formidable.

Yep thats what I'm thinking too. The new S-Class is going to murder it and put even more distance between these 2 rivals. The LS460 was outdone by the S550 from day one back in 2007, I predict the same thing time.

Lexus may have learned. Expect the next IS and especially the IS-F to be the toughest rival. I think this one may outdo both the A8 and 7 Series and be the closest car ot the S Class.

I saw my first GS on the way in to work this a.m. Surprisingly, it looked better in the photo's. Really horrible looking to these eyes IRL.

Yeah, the new GS is horrible in real life. So soulless, bland, generic, boring, disjointed (front and sides/back) even. The previous one looked more interesting and dynamic (but less elegant/smooth I guess, not that it's saying much considering both designs at hand) I think.

Will have a new LS 460 F SPORT variant
Lexus has announced plans to introduce the 2013 LS at a special event in San Francisco on July 30th.
The company declined to release pictures, but said the lineup will consist of the LS 460, LS 460 F SPORT, LS 460 L and LS 600h L. This seems to imply that engine options will carryover, but nothing is official as of yet. Regardless, the current LS 460 has a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces 357 hp (266 kW / 362 PS) and 367 lb-ft (497 Nm) of torque. Likewise, the LS 600h uses a 5.0-liter V8 and an electric motor to create a combined output of 438 hp (327 kW / 444 PS).
The LS 460 F SPORT is a new addition to the lineup and it will likely have an aerodynamic body kit in the same vein as the RX F SPORT.

Wow, they aren't going to downsize the engine in the hybrid? That's just dumb, esp. when they have nothing in the form of a diesel engine. I'm not entirely surprised that they are carrying over the same engine the since current V8 was brand-new when the current gen LS debuted. However, I would hope that they made it more efficient yet with more grunt.
