M3/M4 [Spy Shots] 2014 BMW M3 (Impressions, SpyPhotos, Renderings)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
The most impressive thing about this is the impressive weight savings compared to the previous car. Will this new M3/M4 be just an upgrade to the E90/E92 M3 and still compete with its usual rivals (C-AMG car, Audi S/RS car)??..... or will it take it to another level of performance by beating a 911 C2S........If the new M3/M4 can lap faster than a 991 Carrera S around the Ring, then I would be seriously impressed.

Both have almost the same power to weight ratio but C2S is lighter, so I think Carrera S will still be faster around a track. My prediction, new M3 will probably do a 7:50-7:55 on normal tires. Carrera S did 7:44 in Supertest.

So im eagerly awaiting a 4 way test between the M4, Lafer, P1 and 918.. shit will be intense!!!

PS
This is for those old members they might remember the BMW fan that compared the last M3 to the Carrera GT:D

Ahh those were the good times :D:D

Autobild will hand the win to the M4, because the M4 will win the all important price category by a small margin (give or take $1million!).

Aah yes, the weight of the E63 is wondeful. I do have to credit them for that, it's pretty amazing!!
Why? Because Mercedes is cheating with its weight specs? :)
German Sport Auto is measuring actual weight in their tests. They made a comparison Panamera/M5/E63.
Guess what?
E63 weight 1941kg
M5 weight 1963 kg

That means to me: LaArtist post is worth nothing - just citing Mercedes bullshit data ;)

My prediction from a year ago was 7:52
Let's see. It should be pretty close to the GTS :)

Those numbers depend on equipment, still lighter though..and a way older car;)

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
