Sport Auto - Nordschleife laptimes

I don't think the first NSX was any better than the then Skyline GTR either, but people raved about it because Ayrton Senna helped develop it.

Normally I have to agree with you but not this time.

I remember their time of 8.22 and even in those days nobody believed it was achieved with a standard GTR, everybody and I mean everybody was having doubts about that time.

People have always held doubts about GTR 'ring times because they were so good but it was faster on Tsukuba too. And for the record, the NSX was actually faster on the 'ring (slightly) but it ran in the dry as opposed to the damp. Those who've driven a GTR would not doubt its speed, it has deceptively quick point-to-point pace, a very wide power band and over 300hp in reality (despite the official 276hp). The original R32 was also a very advanced car, with RWS and a computer controlled centre-diff only previously seen on a 959. The only thing the car needed for sub-8 was really larger wheels and a decent set of brakes. It was way ahead of its time and made a mockery of other cars in Group A.

We now have sub-300hp FWD hot hatches running 30-40s faster, so what's not to believe?

Wow can't wait for the Supertest of the AMG GT R that is going to be mega interesting to see how faster it is compared to the GT S and how fast it can do the N- Ring

We already know the Nordschleife Time (7:10.92) since December, this just adds the rest of the Supertest like Hockenheim, Slalom etc.

Still waiting for an LT one too.

I fear that there won't be one for the LT. There also isn't a single picture or hint from them for a 675LT-supertest.

Ok I knew that amg gtr will do phenomenal, but I can't stop being shocked that 911 carrera gts did in comparison test in latest sport auto on hockenheim 1:08,0 laptime. Fastest production 911 ever! Faster than gt2 rs,turbo and all gt3 versions to date!

Nice intro for the new generation P Zero Corsa for sure...

But isn't it staggering that carrera gt still is in top ten on hockenheim(I think it's a tie in 8th place)? And laptime was done more than 13 years ago...
