I don't know about the W223, but there's also the delay between SOP and market launch/availability to factor in.

I think it might be a trick of the camera.
Wide angle lenses will accentuate the "pointiness" of something if its facing into the camera.

Looks like it will just be a substantial face and butt tuck.

I don't know how you can really conclude that. Basically have no idea how it's actually going to look, the DRLs are totally hidden, can't even totally see the full outline of the grill.

Don’t think so. The sheet metal remains untouched. The plastic parts however, like a large part of the front and rear, could surprise us in it’s details. Different lights perhaps?

Vice Versa. The LCI will probably reflect the forthcoming X7 just as the X7 facelift reflected the i7/7. Both are the BMW GKL champions with a symbiotic relationship. Their similarities will remain.

Personally, no. The G1x 7-er did get a fairly comprehensive front end LCI refresh, but I wouldn't have regarded that as a full re-skin. I don't think they'll change much/anything that addresses the underlying reasons for criticism. The front overhang and height won't get smaller, it'll still have split head lights - even if they tweak the design, it'll sill have a big tall grille (it might change shape), and the M-sport will likely still have a lot of black plastic on it (and perhaps horizontal slats).

Perhaps they rotate the slim upper headlights to make a diagonal, do something with the grille pattern to get some diagonal lines going on.

Absolutely no way, theyt wouldn't recoup the costs. These malls and presses are highly bespoke and expensive. But like what @Mick Briesgau said, the plastic frront will get a complete redesign, which is a 7er tradition at this point.

That's just camo, allied to weird camera focal length. Like any facelift, no sheetmetal's going to change. Bumpers, lights (maybe) & grill...
