I agree. I believe the E71 was a better interpretation of the SUV coupe than the F16. Let us hope this new one is a better interpretation.

As expected, the design of the front area is specific to THE X6. The newly shaped kidneys are a welcome adition and help it most when compared to THE X5. As well, the air vents and the incastration of the LED fog lights are a different story to the G05. The headlights also appear to have their upper lid sweaping upwards a bit compared to the rather straight upper lid of the X5 headlight, though that might only be an optical illusion. The area around the surrounding the licence area is also modified.

Now, the rear end will be the truly polarizing area of the car. Definitely going to ignite some vicious talks...

The pictured model is mostly the X6 M50i/M50d, given the wheels and design elements in Cerium Grey.

It gives me vibes to the first gen X6. Which remains the best looking SAC to this day IMO.
