Could you elaborate on what you thought of it? At tha...

Yes. When I saw it it was still a part-final static model.
I had already been pre-conditioned regarding the Grilles because of the X7 which pre-determined the outlook they wanted. And of Course VisioniDynamics.
When I saw it I was like I don't know. It's bold especially at a time BMW had settled for conservative.

There was a pre-launched production 8 so they could go through the motions on why this is not this and why this is not that. It's the grille that lingers and if you remember? I included a spy photograph of the first prototype and drew the grille on it to have it fresh from memory.

The more I have seen the car in production form, the more I learn that having seen everything come to fruition regarding THE 7 and THE X7 you get to understand where everything is going. The kidney grille is a classic identity one of the more sacred items that other manufacturers have not interpreted.

It's good that 4 is not just a mini 8. And that grille certainly keeps its individuality intact. It's a striking car and I a am more impressed every day of its distinctive presence against the G20 compared to F30 and F32. The only clues of similarity are inside.

Now BMW see the car of course being another model where the more practical solution The Gran Coupe becomes the best selling model of the line as what happened to the 6er and previous 4er. That we now see with 8 Gran Coupe.
Again Outselling the traditional Coupe.
