8 Series [Renders] 2020 BMW 8 series

The BMW 8 Series is a range of grand tourer coupes and convertibles produced by BMW. The 8 Series was introduced in 1990 under the E31 model code and was only available as a two-door coupé. The E31 was discontinued in 1999 due to poor sales. The model range was later reintroduced in 2018 with the second generation, G15 8 Series. It launched in coupé (G15), convertible (G14), and four-door Gran Coupé (G16) body styles, as the successor to the F06/F12/F13 6 Series lineup.

You have it just a glimpse above

Looks too simple.

This is going to be one gorgeous looking car ....I’m really hoping for a 8 Gran Coupé as well .

Whether it's an 8 series Gran Coupe...or a rakish 9 series luxury 4 door "sedoupe"...or perhaps an i9 luxury EV 4 door coupe, I trust that BMW will not forfeit a profitable turf occupied by Audis' A7/S7/RS7, Porsches' Panamera and M-Bs' CLS/AMG 4 door GT liftback. Not to mention Aston Martins' Lagonda saloon scheduled for a 2020 market intro.

Such a Bayerische Motoren Werke entry may make a surprise entry in production-near concept form at one of 2019s' earlier motor shows. Geneva. Maybe Shanghai.

Eeek. Gotta get an official pic, because that pic of the rear looks like a bag of smashed arse.

I thank you for posting that. but I'm not impressed with the car. The back is hideous.

Where's the 8-er? Is it parked behind that white X2?

... waaiiit a second ...

Yea, the rear in person was a tough swallow, but looked way better than that shot suggests. Also, it should be debadged...

Is that 850i badging? Would it not have an M badge in front of it?

The rear pictures are far too condensed. The actual car appears much more in proportion, mainly because you cannot see the surface lines that give the rear of the car and its valence more definition.

What kept you?

75% the concept. Some elements like the bumpers have been designed to be largely in line with the current M sport design language. It retains the shark apearance, - low, wide, and mean.

I'm still partial S-Coupé, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask. 8er over the DB11 everyday of the week.

Front & Rear bumpers also side skirts from the conept have no relation to the production car. Grille seemed to be 80% the size of the concept. The headlights are less agressive, as shown below.

These spy shots are a complete M850 with cladding. It had these wheels.

Using your imagination, if you take away the faux Bangle boot and the puffed up rear 3/4 and look at the M8 GTE's tailights.... combine the two - that's the final product.

The side profile has much more life to it than the F12 6er. The F12 had a relatively slab-sided apearance with a large greenhouse. After the GC came out, it was obvious that the GC was designed first.

I wouldn't say that, though there was no mention of a 860.

Like all GTs, except the Wraith, I don't think rear seat room was on the mind of the engineers and design team. 2+2 configuation for insurance purposes? Probably.

I think the footprint is larger, but not by much. Definitely apeared wider.

You forgot to mention it has a B-Pillar.
