4 Series [Renders] 2020 BMW 4 series

The BMW 4 Series is a range of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since 2013. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series.

Sad times...

The currently 4er cabrio is one of the best hardtop convertibles in the business.

It doesn’t compromise on its looks due to the removing roof. It doesn’t look bulbous at all. To the untrained eye, some can’t even tell it’s a convertible when the roof is up. It’s just as attractive as the coupe - roof up or down.

I understand why the 8er and Z4 went down the fabric route, not this...

I always prefer the hardtop.

When speaking about convertibles, with it's roof on, the hardtop ruins the look of the car because it looks like it's made of 100 parts more than coupe. At least by BMW... IMO, of course... Seriously, this looks ridiculous:

Metal folding roof doesn't look good in a four seater convertible. It does look fantastic in a two seater roadster, though. Best example: SL R230 pre-FL.

I saw one in a dark color and it is not even notice that it is convertible, it even looks flatter than the coupe, with a great presence, originality and an air of total exclusivity

NEWS FLASH:

Reuters: BMW (Munich) 01/04/2020:

On behalf of the BMW management, we would like to share our deepest regrets to announce this news to our dedicated customers, but as the impact of the current situation in the world has effected our core business, BMW has decided to unfortunately cancel the launch of the new 4-series in 2020.

As a bonus and after much consideration, we have decided to bring back a bit of the 4 series legacy, with a car that has the biggish grill but is undeniably a massive legend in its own right.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the brand new 2020 BMW 2002ti

I'm sure in this class, majority of convertibles is being sold in lighter colors... Anyway, i don't like convertibles at all, but if i'd had to choose, it would be canvas without thinking twice.

Agree that in light colors it shows more, but in person to the eye that is not an expert, not so much, did not know that the sales of these had a majority of light colors, why would it be?
I don't particularly like convertibles either, until with the aluminum roofs they caught my eye

If it bothers you (like me), you'll notice the thing, regardless of color..and i'm not an expert either... :D :t-cheers:

I contemplate whether the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis will herald a return to what we would perrceive as being "simpler times". Also applying to automobiledom. And for me, a revival of the sort of enthusiasm that I experienced as a youth and student. It would be so much easier to decide on "ultimate garage" entries. It appeared far more simple in an era long passed-and a 2002ti would certainly be on my list. Along with an Alfa-Romeo Giulia 2000 GTV Bertone (105), a late-series Porsche 911S "Longnose", a Maserati Indy and an M-B W109 300SEL 6.3. Keeping it short and simple.

I don't know. I would like to think probably not because it's not entire fitting for the sportier Ethos of either THE 3 or 4?
But who knows?

Realistic Render for the Gran Coupe.
