I do like the rear of this X4 a lot. Much better than the previous model.

Yet I do think it's the front of the X3 that needed change. But I think I am in the minority here. And the new rear does look good.

Anything's better than the L shape at this point. L shape needs a decade or two off.

You are not. I said it before and I will say it again. The new X3 will date very quickly as we see more bimmers with sleek tail/head lights and new centre console design. Once again it's caught before a generational shift in design.

The X4 tail lights are stunning and makes the rear look less dopey and heavy.

The longer wheelbase of the G02 helps the roofline. It's less condensed compared to the F26. However F26 is an afterthought vehicle designed to enter a mid-life cycle. Same goes for the original F71 X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Klasse.

Thanks Eni. I wonder if the boot capacity will be enhanced any amount with the longer roofline.

Have you scaled the vehicles based on wheel dimensions? If so it looks to have grown in length significantly.

Based on this, I would say the only part looking like an improvement is the rear end. The entire car will be more upscale, better built and with a much nicer interior. But the proportions and the side profile in general look way better on the new X3 than on this X4.

Besides the first X6, BMW has yet to nail a SAC IMO.

Sure it looks like a GLC, because a GLC itself is a blatant X4/X6 copy itself.
And that awful X3 front looks a hell of a lot better than the generic crap MB puts on all it's fronts.
