Good question. Pre-Series gets produced in plant (even the BBG - Bestätigungsbaugruppe, I think). But since plants in germany are closed down, this also means a stop for G22 development ... unless they have sufficient G2x pre-series for testing purposes already ...

Honestly, changing the hardtop of the current 4 convertible for the canvas, must be due only to a question of costs, I think that if you are looking for "more" performance or greater "practicality" you have the coupe, much technical progress was made with these aluminum roofs, in its integration to the car and design, a technological beauty in its open and closed operation, to now return to the past

That is why I said that if you want advantages like that, you always have the coupe, when choosing the convertible you know that you are giving up certain things, it is a heavier and "less dynamic" car, (although you should take it to the limits to realize it), the same with Canvas will weigh 200 kilos more than the coupe, in favor of the pleasure of the sky as a roof, so I do not see the difference, but to the detriment of all the good things about a hard convertible roof.

I always prefer the hardtop. It is sad for me that they gave up on it. Maybe it will make the difference since I was waiting for the new 4 cabrio, now I think that I will go for the coupe.
