4 Series [Renders] 2020 BMW 4 series

The BMW 4 Series is a range of compact executive cars manufactured by BMW since 2013. The 4 Series was created when BMW spun off the 2-door models (coupé and convertible) of the 3 Series into a separate series.

Oh yes... Those were the days when we had to rely on outrage...

Not to derail the thread too much, the Diablo-successor was originally supposed to be more curvy in appearance with very large circular intakes on the rear haunches. However, that was scrapped and we got the more angular Murcielago.

Now back to the regularly scheduled posts regarding the 4er.

What do you mean? Where is the dashboard leak?
...[/QUOTE]
They were in a couple of .com with the package of photos, there were two, but I can't find them, maybe they were fake and they were removed, but until yesterday they were even accompanied by text that mentioned the differences

Hmm...probably fake but I could be wrong!

The 4er coc...
These that I say were taken sitting inside the car, very clear closed to the vents and screen and a similar location was seen from the windshield, (kind of deposit with cars etc.), very convincing, they were probably from another BMW with the screen more inclined, the Z4 perhaps, I feel as if I had hallucinated

I think the biggest let down are going to be those rear lights not the front.

I think it's purely the angle, the photographer took too little distance totally destroying the 3D effect of the rear lights towards the side. In addition, if you look at the most recent spyshots of the M4 you will see that the rear lights are actually quite "mean"looking.

I think Scoot or BMWBlog mentioned that the interior is a 3er interior with different trims. Mildly disappointing if their intent was to give the 4er more distinction from the 3er, but the 3er interior is very nice place to be in, so to be expected.

I think Scoot or BMWBlog mentioned that the inte...
Yes it's the same situation as the competition such as Audi A5 and Mercedes-C-Klasse to also share the interior.
For the BMW there are subtle trim differences but 95% it's the 3er.
And as you said it's ergonomics and quality are class leading.

I have read replies that BMW are mimicking or directly copying Lexus and Infiniti with the rear tail light outline.
When in fact if you go back to the E92 3er Coupe which would have been the first 4er if management were braver.

The E92 Has the upturned L shape idea now used in the 4.
Then Lexus and Infiniti "interpreted" it their way.:p
And BMW have brought it back.

Don't be disappointed yet, today they look bad just like that grill with adhesive tape around, but in my opinion the taillights will emerge respecting the general idea that as a whole will reflect this (I hope)

Sadly those concept taillights are only similar in idea. It's vastly more ugly on the production car. Probably the biggest change and most disappointing one......APART FROM THE H O O D S H U T LI N E :banghead:

Maybe they'll look better when officially presented, or maybe I'll get used to them. But I really am missing the sharpness of the concept design. The production graphics look so round and random.

That front grill doesnt look bad at all, certainly better than all the renders and also more digestible than the upcoming M3/M4 grill. The black colour insert between the kidneys is better than body colour in my opinion. Not liking the thin Lexus style grey lensed rear lights, they lack the sharpness and cohesiveness of the concepts tail.

The shape of that grille reminds me of someone's backside - two big butt cheeks and a crack.

Which leads me to the conclusion that BMW's new design language is arse-about-face.

^lOl!
have to agree with that.
I actually think it might be a ps job.
The underside of the car looks totally fake.
The front end, looks like it was edited in the photo.

The picture is mirrored and on the original i3 was on right side, now it's on both sides.
