F1 Formula 1 - 2025 Season

Red Bull has been fast at this track for many years.
McLaren papaya rules are backfiring. The car has been losing performance to Red Bull and now both drivers are doing mistakes under pressure.
Seems like McLaren screwed WDC once again.

Red Bull attempted to interfere with Norris grid marker

IMG_0742.webp

This typically involves McLaren positioning Norris’s car as far forward as possible in the grid box during the pre-race procedure, with the placement of the tape then adjusted to Norris’s preference.

After the formation lap had started on Sunday, a Red Bull team member re-entered this gate well area as the pit marshals started to close the gate and did not react when they tried to stop him.

The Race understands that the evidence available showed the team member reached onto the pitwall parallel to Norris’s grid slot.

While the resolution of the cameras does not allow for specific identification of what they were touching on the wall, The Race has been told by multiple sources that there is no question the target was the tape used for Norris’s grid reference.

Red Bull has interfered with the tape at recent races, too, and McLaren is understood to have changed its methods in the US to make it harder to remove.

Lindblad was the only rookie to beat the team mate. That Red Bull car number one is on another level. I would like to see Tsunoda driving it.

Seems like it will be a "easy" win for McLaren. Only Mercedes seems to keep up with them.
But rain and wind (up to 50 km/h) can make it interesting today!

Both McLarens disqualified for excessive rear plank wear.
By 0.007cm (Norris)
By 0.01cm (Piastri)

McLaren misscalculated but this rule is ridiculous IMO. That's such a fine margin. Theres no real gain on track.

Also, why didn't Lawson get a penalty for hitting Piastri at the start. Piastri got 10s penalty in Brazil for hitting Antonelli on turn 1 at the start.
And yesterday Hadjar ignored yellow flag during Qualifying. https://streamable.com/tway08

F1 is a mess right now.

This is a wrong way to say it....

No , it was not 0.00blabla short

It was 1 mm AND 0.00blabla over the limit

Let's be clear : that plank has a very good purpose . It's for cars to respect the height regulations . And there is absolutely no other way to force teams to respect the minimum height . This is the only way to measure it , by measuring the degradation of that plank.

Honestly , having watched the race , I noticed excessive sparks behind McLaren cars.

It is what it is . Just like in football , when VAR says that "the offside was by a finger nail " , the same is here (I'd say it is better here , because they have a 1mm gap)

Edit: Here is a small example . Piastri has sparks under, for almost the whole pass from Leclerc. Please look at it (Lap 12)

Also Lap 16 , same Piastri . Excessive sparks...

Lap 23 , same piastri ( vs Sainz)

And so on....
