B-Class [Renders] 2018 B class (W247)

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is a subcompact executive car manufactured and marketed by Mercedes-Benz since 2005. Based on the A-Class with larger dimensions, the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) classifies it as a small MPV.

2019 Mercedes B-Class Caught Up Close With Slightly Less Camo

2019 Mercedes B-Class Caught Up Close With Slightly Less Camo

Halogen lights on a 2019 Mercedes don't look right.
It’s easy to understand why the B-Class gets probably the least attention among all of Mercedes’ models. With more and more people infatuated with crossovers and SUVs, minivans are regarded as being bland, if not downright boring. But even though the appetite for high-riding models keeps growing, there’s still a segment of the market looking to buy a small people mover. This is the reason why BMW is selling the 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer, while Mercedes is working on a new B-Class.

Our spies had a tête-à-tête with a prototype of Daimler’s new minivan and this time around it had slightly less camouflage. The test vehicle was still disguised from front to rear, but we’re able to make out some of the details and can safely say the B-Class will be more than just a tall A-Class.

The front fascia is not as sharp as the hatchback’s and we can observe those halogen headlights have a different shape than those of the A-Class. Expect the production-ready car to be offered with the same LED tech as the hatch, but you’ll have to pay extra for that.
Looking at the side profile, the raised roof will have a positive impact on the greenhouse as the windows are visibly bigger and that means a lot of light will enter the cabin to make the interior seem roomier. We’re not seeing the fixed glass area aft the rear doors, but we’re almost sure it’s there, hiding behind the swirly camouflage.

Moving at the back, the tailgate appears to be much wider than that of the A-Class, which will make loading and unloading cargo a lot easier. We can only catch a glimpse of the taillights, but chances are these will be unique to the B-Class in order to better suit its more rounded overall appearance.

Clear shots of the interior are not available in the adjacent set, yet in some of the images we can clearly see the dashboard design will be largely inherited from the A-Class, which is hardly surprising. Basically all future compact models from Mercedes will have this dash, including the upcoming A-Class Sedan and the GLB.

Engines, gearboxes, and technologies of the B-Class are going to be sourced from the hatchback. Of course, it’s highly unlikely the minivan will spawn “B35” and “B45” hot derivatives, though never say never considering Mercedes once sold an R63 AMG minivan.

As to when we’ll get to see the new B without the camo, we’re leaning towards an early 2019 reveal.

Mercedes GLB Spied In Traffic Showing Off More Of Its Lights

Mercedes GLB Spied In Traffic Showing Off More Of Its Lights

Mercedes is preparing a product assault in the U.S., and one of the new models is the GLB-Class. The new crossover will likely fill the gaping product hole between the $33,400 GLA and the $40,050 GLC. The new video above shows the GLB prototype testing in Germany, which shows off the crossover's new lighting elements in action.

The crossover carries a distinct boxy appearance, which reminded me some dealers of the GLB, according to those who've seen it. There are indeed similarities, though we'll have to reserve judgment until we see the final product. The grille is tall, and upright, giving the crossover a very prominent stance. The boxy aesthetic continues to the rear of the vehicle as well.
The new GLB will ride on Mercedes' MFA2 platform that also underpins the A-Class and B-Class. The GLB will be a five-passenger crossover with the possibility of seating seven. There could also be a stretched wheelbase version, though that may not make it to the U.S. The five-passenger version should go on sale in the United States in the second half of 2019.

Information regarding powertrains is sparse. The GLB should have similar engine choices such as the 1.33-liter producing 134 or 161 horsepower and a bigger 188-hp 2.0-liter. The U.S. GLB will likely receive the larger engine. There are also rumors of some high-performance AMG variants in the works. Such AMG GLB versions could use the same turbocharged 2.0-liter and 48-volt mild hybrid technology to produce 300 and 400 horsepower, depending on the AMG designation.

With spy photographers capturing the GLB out in force testing, it shouldn't be long until we see the final product. Mercedes plans to reveal the U.S. A-Class later this year. This would be an excellent opportunity to show off the GLB. If it receives a debut later this year, production should start in 2019.

2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB compact SUV shows up in Prague - MercedesBlog

Mercedes-Benz is extensively testing the future GLB, a brand new compact SUV. AutoWeek reader Kristof Fostier bumped into the newcomer in Prague and was quick enough to immortalize the car.

Fair is fair: it is by no means the first time that a GLB has been recorded on film. The car already appeared twice before, but now the rear is less covered with camouflage material. For the first time it is clearly visible that the car gets horizontally oriented rear lights in the style of the GLC bigger brother.
The GLB is one of the models which will soon join the Mercedes’ compact model family. The car shares its MFA2-basis with the new A-Class, which gets lots of other derivatives. The A-Class Sedan is already available in China, but in addition the brand with the star still has to reveal the new CLA, a new CLA Shooting Brake, a new B-Class, a new GLA and the GLB.

The car seems to get a relatively striking angular shape and with that the SUV even looks a bit like the GLK of yesteryear. Basically, the GLB will have standard front wheel drive. 4Matic drive will be reserved for the more powerful versions.

The fact that the GLB is slowly shaking off its camouflage hide may indicate that a revelation is not long overdue.

A class interior in B class? Don't like it.

It's not gonna be identical. And, as mentioned a while ago, the GLB will also introduce new details to the interior. Let's just put it like that: there will be some DIY-store associations :).

At 0:33 so close that black one to the white a class...in case of a hard brake, the black one kisses the white one. Not cool

Mercedes is working on a new GLB and it appears the model may have been spotted by one of our readers.

Sent in by Per Orslien, the pictures show a crossover being transported on the back of trailer traveling towards the Swedish boarder. We’re not entirely sure this is the Mercedes GLB, but the model does have a number of similarities to previous prototypes and an undisguised crash tester. That being said, the crossover has significantly less camouflage than previous prototypes so that makes positive identification difficult.

Regardless, the crossover has plastic body cladding, an upward sweeping beltline and a character line that runs through the door handles. We can also see a tailgate-mounted spoiler, roof rails and a dual exhaust system.

Our reader wasn’t able to snap a picture of the front of the crossover, but he noted the model had some front end damage. That could explain why the model is being towed by a vehicle from Berlin-based Naujock Autotransporte.

We haven’t heard much about the GLB lately, but the crossover will be based on the same platform that underpins the A-Class and next-generation GLA. As a result, engine options will likely be shared between the models.

There’s no word on which engines will make the cut, but likely suspects include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 221 hp (165 kW / 224 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. Reports have also suggested the model could receive AMG variants including a GLB 35 with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing more than 300 hp (223 kW / 304 PS). There could also be a range-topping GLB 45 or 50 with over 400 hp (298 kW / 405 PS).

The Mercedes GLB is slated to debut next year and reports have suggested the crossover will go on sale in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2019.

That’s not a GLB, and frankly pretty sure it’s not a Mercedes. Look at the mirrors and door handles.

Also the GLB has that kink up on the rear windows and squared off. This isn’t an MB

Well, that's not a Mercedes.
