The Q3 - Bland, premium looking (in-and-out) car that will please Audi enthusiast and buyers.

The X1 - A more mature execution of the Compact SUV/SAV and first in the Premium segment. BMW did their homework and it shows even more know! -

- Not a 1 day job to have a competitor in this segment - That is how I view the blown up A1 copy and paste into a make believe Compact SUV from Audi, poor attempt. The best job the Q3 does is that it let's the X1 SHINE!

They are both equally awkward-looking cars. The X1's nose is really starting to look so blunt and the sheetmetal makes its wheels look tiny; the Q3's short wheelbase makes it look like a camel standing on a barrel.

Golly, I actually think the Tiguan is the better looking car:

Anyone even have sat in the X1 ? Everything that is silver is plastic. In the Q3 they look metal.

In both cases it's plastic covered with thin a layer of metal. Audi use shiny metals (eg. to imitate chrome), BMW usually use more matte ones (eg. to imitate ruthenium). It's part of design decision: to go more bling! with shiny parts, or make them more matte.

Usually people still associate shiny stuff with being more luxurious, and matte stuff more with being sporty.

For me it is still X1. But should be with 18" rims and X-Line. But the X1 looks old, specially because based on E8X platform and not on the new F2X platform.

Good poll. I would instinctively pick the BMW, I just think it looks better.

However, in this picture the BMW actually looks scared. With wide eyes

For me, the BMW. That Audi is pretty boring.

Q3 for me. Having slept on my view of the car I'm pleasantly pleased by it. The X1 looks rather clumsy and overly masculine next to it. What Audi has done is design a SUV that looks more like a beefed up hatchback - does Audi Steppenwolf ring a bell The Q3 is more akin to the Mini Countryman -- an SUV but yet a hatchback. A golden details is the wavy character line also seen on the A5 Coupe and R8 Cabrio. I think that once the car starts rolling on the road opinions on this board will change just like when Audi presented the A5. It has hailed as boring but eventually it grew on people. The design and body style is more clever than what first meet the eyes.

I chose the Q3.

The X1's front is absolutely horrible, the side awkward, the rear not bad. Overall, in my eyes, it's a disaster. That front, gosh how could they? Ugly. And yes, I saw it IRL.

The Q3 looks a bit dull, but it's quite good-looking in its dullness. Not real weakpoint, no awkwardness, it's a design that is safe but nice. Wheelbase a bit short and roof a bit high, making it slightly strange from the side maybe.

Interior, I dunno, didn't feel any of them. I trust Audi to have a superior quality than the questionable one in the X1.
