It’s the latest in a long line of BS in order to compensate for a questionable looking car. First it was design by measurement, then it was you need to have a higher understanding of design. Now it’s the “must be something wrong with you” angle. Funny you don’t see this dumb spin in Aston, Maserati, and other threads that feature what most consider to be good looking cars.

What the f#ck are you talking about? read the posts or are you blind this is about skoda in relation to BMW designs, not about what is pretty or what is ugly, cut it out

I already start to feel sad for @dalab in this thread.

Same, but I admire his dedication to his craft. It's actually cute when you think about it.

I'll feel extremely disappointed if he hasn't been lying to us the whole time about being a guy from Uruguay living in Ecuador.

I mean, he MUST be a member of the Quandt family, living in Bavaria, a major holder with voting rights on BMW's board; and just trolling us all.

Otherwise, I insist on how massively disappointed I'll feel.

You catch me.
At the company we take the forum and its comments very much into account.
Peace.

Funny I had a 540i G30 when it came out, and my friends brand new Toyota Camry at the time had better steering feel. I am really interested on how they managed to make it worse.

The base 5er has been steadily moving towards being a luxury sedan, like the E-class or A6, more than a large sport-sedan. That seems to only be reserved for the M5, and even then people have stated that though it is lightning quick and sharp, the steering and inputs have become numb.

Isolation cuts two ways, I suppose.

Given that the i5 M40 seems to be about 40% more expensive in base spec compared to the 520i/d, I just know that the 520 will be the big seller.

Journalists love to wax lyrical about the so-called redundancy of ICE cars and how manufacturer's are pushing people towards their EV products, but they speak with the authority of people who don't actually pay for the vehicles they drive.
Until the base i5 is as cheap as the 520i, it'll never be the biggest seller.

Only company car fleets will really buy in, but everyone else will get the cheapest they can afford.

Don’t forget the need for a mass market appeal. Not everyone wants a heavy steering, or a more precise one. As much as ’western’ enthusiasts hate it, the reality is that with every generation these become more global and have to cater to every need.

With the G-Series cars, BMW's philosophy changed. Prior, it was ultimate driving machine. Every bmw was sporty.

Now if you want an ultimate driving machine you must buy either an M lite or m Model.

Standard cars are now luxury cars. This is not a bad thing as most customers just want:
-A decent drive train
-premium badge
-Comfort

I changed from an F25 X3 M sport to a G01 X3 msport with adaptive dampers. The difference was night and day. The old car was fun to drive and engaging, whilst the new one was numb and dull to drive even in sport mode.

On the positive side, the G82 M4 is a substancial leap in handling, turn in and feel from an M340i. Therefore the ultimate driving experience does exist within the product lineup, you just won't get it in the base models.

Nope. It was earlier. After the E series. E series was BMW in its best form. Something that will never be repeated again for many reasons. F and G are already downgrades to the typical BMW experience of prior.

M lite doesn't cut it and a real M is way too big, heavy and expensive.

It's not per se a bad thing, but an M3 drives like a Nissan GTR......but I still stand by my statement that an M3 (Touring) is the best car money can buy in 2023. Out of ALL cars.

Yeah it's just sad that instead of being true to their principles, they are willing to give up on it just for a larger marketshare. A reason why Porsche is still loved by most enthusiasts, and BMW not so much.
