I have one, it is working fine. Swap with the finger and it is as clear as you want. Never an issue. I want a frunk by the way. Closing the hood it is so rewarding and your fingers are so nicely dirty.

Edit: where is the time we closed our trunk manually?
Excusing lame engineering.

I have seen the G60. Woohoo!

Let’s settle one of the most debated POV: It looks front FWD. I can confirm that it doesn’t look FWD at all in person. The front half of the car simply doesn’t photograph well. In person I thought, ohhh gorgeous shape, then when I took a photo I thought “ew, the front looks stretched”. Front 3/4 is the least flattering angle if you photograph the car.

Let’s discuss the G60 through the lens of it’s predecessors.

G30: IMO, the G30 was too conservative and a touch too soft looking. When it launched, it was difficult to tell its rear apart from the F10 from a distance. However, the LCI get a chefs kiss. BMW added a bit of an edge to and voila, it looks like the reincarnation of the E39. The M550i is picture perfect from any angle both inside and out. It will become a classic!

E60: It’s a design revolution to say the least. A complete break away from any previous BMW saloon. The way the head and tail lights wrap around the side of the car can almost be considered drag queens or caricature-esque. Whether you like the design or not is debatable but there is no denying that BMW dailed controversy up to 10.

G60: Design is halfway between E60 and G30 LCI. BMW’s approach to rear end design is entire new here. Accomodation for the battery in the floor makes the car mid-heavy. However BMW have masked this by making the rear thick but noticeably given the car a shorter boot lid with an aggressive sloping. It reminds me of the Jaguar XF which is in the middle between a three box saloon and coupe shaped one.

The rear is fierce, thicc, athletic but elegant to the point that I’m not longing for the M5. However, unlike the E60, the tail light graphics are a red, white and red sandwich is which familiar if you like European saloons of the 90s. Whilst the rear is bold, the front is traditional in comparison with recent BMW models. Therefore if you like the G30 or prefer small-ish kidneys then the G60 is the car for you.

I7 vs i5: I prefer the design of the i5. It looks more wholesome and unified across trims. The i7 has the right design vision but some of the details on the bumpers screams ”This is the first pancake of the batch“. Head and tail lights looks ace. There is potential that could be reached with a well throughout facelift.

Overall the i5 is a gorgeous looking car. If you don’t need the seat comfort, legroom or top end power of the i7 then the i5 40i could be better value.

Thank you for the detailed and descriptive experience, in case it was not clear to anyone
These spot the difference games are getting so difficult
Aha, it's not news that years ago Skoda began to "follow the line" of BMW in a shameless way, what I don't see is the funny thing about that.....

It's a shame that they abandoned their 2000's style (I think it was the brilliant Da Silva) to copy BMW, they had found something unique that catapulted them to success and then instead of evolving it as DNA they got lazy

Skoda's from 80's, 90's, 2000's

Lol, the last pic I actually thought it’s a Superb.

They really need a new designer to show them a vision, the 2 meters wig guy has to go.

The same ridiculousness over and over again of the generation of the 90's, 2000's, the insistence on establishing what one thinks should be beautiful and good currently for the No. 1 luxury carmaker in the world seems to have no limits, zero interpretation of reality, empathy for what has been achieved and ignorance of the facts that lead to success

They had their time indeed for being the best in game in terms of design and very innovative during the Bangle era.
Now it’s a pure improvisation and gluing together trends from France and Asia with doubtfull results. So the criticism they are facing is well deserved.

Correct, my observation is based on the fact that I feel a blind attachment to an era, which somewhat clouds the understanding and appreciation of what is done, putting first what "one wants it to be" or "to be again." and the reality is that he will not return.

There you have the example of Audi nearby, with its beautiful cars that are the same as always, selling less and less and Mercedes innovating in some but failing miserably and evolving too safe in others, also resulting in selling less and less.

IF BMW clings to the past and to the same as some want or claim, today it would already be the property of the Chinese. The achievement is in take risks and not making mistakes and that must be appreciated.
So the criticism they are facing is well deserved.
Yes I suppose, it is prey to its own success.

Those of us who are right? ;)

We already know how it looks, its nice, please make a separate photos thread, its annoying to scroll down all these photos.
It is terrible to scroll down 100 photos where most are almost the same damn ugly car. This thread is becoming a useless photo fest.

Yet, the funny thing is in BMW's fanboys fantasy land, they think Skoda is copying BMW, when it has been almost a decade since the chiseled look has been adopted at VAG for Seat and Skoda.

Upcoming next: BMW introduced the huge grill, Audi and Lexus copied them....or BMW put the split lights in fashion, and Citröen, Jeep and Hyundai have been copying.

BMW copies Skoda, well, after 18 years here, it finally arrived, the stupidest comment since the forum was founded
