That actually helps a lot, I think it could've worked. Brings a bit more balanced to the bloated rear area.

So what was with that 308 CC lookalike rear bumper in the end?

It looks like two black pieces blocking the view in the foreground, but then neither the regular bumper nor the M Sport bumper are actually body color in that area around the reversing light:

Gees wiz that base 5 model looks absolutely terrible. This is when you notice the massive front overhang and awkward styling at front really stands out. The silver trim on the rear bumper curving upwards is cheap looking. The interior looks like a Hyundai Sonata in basic all black, there is no trim colour difference between the dash top and trim strip, all dark grey....Yuck!!!

Indeed, at least that trim insert in the taillights is L-shaped, and actually relates the 5er to the 7er. And both the headlights and the taillights are now available in Shadowline trim:

In absolutely no timeline has the Taycan ever been the benchmark EV. Not in a world with Tesla in it.

I am intrigued to know what the grill will be like, the constant until now has been to change it a lot compared to the series in all the M, the horizontal slats will surely go, but what else...

Probably horizontal bars. Or Maybe just a an M60 with honeycomb pattern. That D-Pillar kink looks exactly what will be on the production car. But will resort to an “M” or “M5” probably.

As we already know from the looks of it that the M5 will have the first widened body, it is within the foreseeable that the touring will be a kick in the head just as the M3 is, it is destined

The last one is a very good photo.
The positive tilt light signature and the general shape of the headlights mostly internally in two different planes is one of the best in BMW's.
