Welcome to the world of industrial design.
The concept not only needs to be practical. It also needs to fit within engineering and packaging guidelines.
Whilst it would be nice to have such a low slung almost Coupe like appearance?
Real-Life decisions eclipse its original ideas to make it far more usable and practical for production.

And what did you think of it IRL? They are good photos, it looks modern and dynamic.

There is a lot of talk about these DLR's but I think they look great and very original when viewed from the side with the positive inclination it gives a new and special touch

My first impression of observing the G60 in flesh:
-It looks gigantic compared to the previous G30 which is close to the size of the current G70.
-The 21 inch Aero Individual wheels are gorgeous and elevate the entire appearance so much.
-The Standard Line looks more sleeker and leaner than the M Sport-M Performance model due to shorter front overhang.
-The daytime running lights are the weakest parts of the G60 (hopefully these will be fixed by the facelift).
-The rear light graphics look decent.
-The front fascia of regular non-M G60 is reminding me of the E60 with the modern touches.

Dedicated platform, shared platform, bullshit, blah blah blah, maybe some will continue to talk for the sake of talking

Verdict

The BMW i5 is the most complete electric saloon on sale, and rivals can’t match its comfort, refinement, infotainment or driving dynamics. In its transition to a full EV, the 5 Series has lost a little of its charm and dynamic ability. But the i5 nails exactly what it needs to. It’s still a great BMW executive saloon.

"While the previous-generation 5 Series wasn’t exactly lacking when it came to refinement, this new i5 is simply superb; it feels more like a 7 Series because it’s so quiet on the move."

"
Indeed, such is the hefty list price of the i5 that Mercedes’ EQE actually manages to undercut it a little in 300 AMG Line trim. But it’s a premium that looks well worth paying, because the i5 outclasses its German rival in nearly every respect."

Never saw the weight mentioned before this, but i5 eDrive40 weighs in at 4,916 pounds and M60 is 5,247 lbs!
