What will the life of the fabric in a dash be like in the very long term? For LCI it would be nice if the dull/corporate silver or piano black inserts on the dash could be replaced with fabric like in the new mini.

Perfectly fine. Fabric used in cars withstand UV, wear and tear for decades. What will the life of the fabric in a dash be like in the very long term?
Yes, well now I remember in the seats, although the dashboards receive a lot of sunPerfectly fine. Fabric used in cars withstand UV, wear and tear for decades.
Cars are highly costly to R&D because parts need to pass rigorous testing e.g exposure to water, moisture, heat and cold cycles and UV.Yes, well now I remember in the seats, although the dashboards receive a lot of sun
1st and 3rd pic with the sun reflection are fireIt is only a matter of time before these new BMWs crush the Mercedes counterparts, that "boring conservatism" is already beginning to be noticed in the "new" C-Class that not even in Germany and being totally new can outsell a 3 series that He is already in his LCI.
Well, annual sales don't lie for two years now.

It's honestly what I think, they are attitudes that harm in the medium term, and if you check the sales thread you will see what I say about Germany and the C-class in recent months as an omenI Love the passion. Misplaced, but still.![]()

Not really, I mentioned mother earth Germany and although they have been even there has always been a spike in favor of the C-Class when it is newly launched as obviously it should happen, but that is not the case this time. The 3 series is a better product than the C-class for a number of reasons. Available power-trains is chief amongst those, but the 3-series has always been more popular than the C-class. That hasn't changed for decades.
On the contrary, my point is with the absurd conservatism of the C and all its three main lines C, E, S almost equal, so even the "most conservative" BMW in its LCI surpasses it in sales marginallyAlso your point is rather amusing considering the LCI 3-series is also the most conservatively designed BMW in the current line-up.
That is not exact, the M3/M4 have always sold more than their Mercedes counterparts and with Mercedes screwing up like with the latter C63, the difference will only grow even more in every sense, not only in sales but as a brand.ou can talk about the M3/4 selling better than the C63s, but we all know that's massively because of the stupid powertrain. Things would be a lot closer if Merc put the M177 in it once again.
Maybe it is a cultural issue, we use more exaggerated idioms and some of you are more literal, what I want to say is that although I am clear that they are very equal in sales, with exceptions, this time from what I have been explaining I see conditions to extend the differenceBoth BMWs and Mercedes always sell well, so this kind of strange tribalism is very odd. Why do you want the BMW's to crush the Mercedes competition anyway?
I also believe that there is nothing better than two or more than two, but that is precisely what gives flavor to the competition and to selling more than the others.I'd much rather a world where there were more than just 1 mid-size luxury sedans on the road, rather than just one.
